A film with more than the usual spoiler issues. Talking about it in any detail feels akin to handing you a gift-wrapped present and saying, "I hope you like it -- It's a thriller about a diabolical secret experiment."

Should you be looking for something you can watch while needing a distraction from boring paperwork or mundane housework, that is light, fun, fast moving and so not needing to be taken seriously 'The Wedding Date' is perfect! It has the potential to rescue any viewer from cynicism and pessimism or just a bad mood. There is lovely chemistry between the leads and though the story is completely unbelievable the leads (both couples) are lovely together. This 'feel good' movie is a nice reminder that life does not need to be always serious, and while some people are simply not redeemable that is, they are not good boyfriends or partners, and can waste our time and our life, there are always other fish in the sea.

Story goes like this Kat Ellis (Messing), who returns to her parents' London home for her sister's wedding is afraid of confronting her ex fiancé, who dumped her two years before, she hires a male escort Nick (Mulroney) to pose as her new boyfriend. And how Kat and Nick come together forms the rest of the story.its good how the characters are introduced and interwoven. The best part is that of Dermot Mulroney. Wow, first of all he is really gorgeous. Next, his role understands women so well. I am the girl who liked Made of honor, Naughty or nice (2012), Holiday in Handcuffs. If you liked those then you will like this movie as well.

I really can't believe the low rating on this movie. I understand that it's not movie gold or that it's predictable in mostly all parts of the movie but I loved the spunk and humor displayed as well as the deeper more serious parts of the movie. I can watch this movie any time it comes on TV without getting bored with it. You can't rate this as an Oscar movie or to some standard as Titanic or Atonement....both AMAZING love stories, however, this love story is just as interesting as previously stated. I don't always want to CRY to see a romantic movie. Laughter can be there too. So for romantic comedy, this movie is great and is sweet to watch with friends or relatives. I watch it with my mother and sisters all the time.Grab some popcorn and enjoy, Debra Messing and Dermot Mulroney are great together and he's not bad to look at either. ;)

I had heard of this film a couple of times, it was obvious from the title what the genre and theme would be, I do occasionally like the cheesy stuff, and I wanted to see why it had a low rating. Basically Kat Ellis (Will & Grace's Debra Messing) is travelling from New York to London, England to attend the wedding and be maid of honour for her half sister Amy (Amy Adams). The uncomfortable fact is that the best man is Kat's former fiancé, but she wants to make her new love interest Jeffrey (Jeremy Sheffield) jealous and develop feelings for her. To do that she decides to hire suave male escort Nick Mercer (Dermot Mulroney) to pose as her boyfriend, but the plan backfires when Nick is convincing everyone they are madly in love. Slowly though Kat does find herself falling for the man she has hired, and she also finds out that Amy slept with Jeffrey while they used to be together. It's because of this he dumped her, and Amy confesses this affair to the husband to be Edward Fletcher-Wooten (Jack Davenport) before the ceremony, but he decides to forgive her and they still marry. In the end, Kat forgets the whole Jeffrey thing and of course she and Nick make their love official and eventually get married themselves. Also starring Sarah Parish as TJ, Peter Egan as Victor Ellis, Holland Taylor as Bunny and Jolyon James as Woody. This is essentially Pretty Woman the other way round, a woman hiring a male escort/prostitute and eventually falling in love, Messing is reasonable and her male co-star is okay, I don't remember laughing much during the film, but it isn't an absolutely terrible romantic comedy. Adequate!
