Absolutely Fantastic
Teddie Blake
The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.

I have to agree with many American reviewers this film just seems poitntless, everyone has our POV but we know alreayd how the arabs americans as terrorist and americans see arabs as terrorist and schools got blowing up, that's cliche old war themes i lived through when my country was at war. if that is the the script writers could think of and the director could explore he really needs new script writers. I liked that Jiba could take out his water, leg, communictations in a few shots but that the only origininal idea in the entire movie. I really think JOHN CENA deserves an oscar for lying down on the ground doing nothing for the entire movie. For him to accept such a script is a joke. plus Isaas is trained to pick up snipers but all of a sudden behind the wall he loses his ability to trace where the sniper is took all realism. Americans need not worry as an internationl person do not see this as anti-america, war is war. but this film was was 88 minutes of my life i will never get back. from script to direction to how the plane takes off knowing a sniper is right there is the dumbest part. The director must brain damage.

That should be all you need. I've avoided making an account for years but felt so strongly I had to warn others about this steaming pile of dog excrement. All the other 1 star reviews have already said it. This may as well be a terrorist recruitment video and a far left wing propaganda piece. Absolute garbage.

I've seen modern war and survival style movies but this is the best of both. The best survival film, by a long shot. And a decent war/anti-war movie at the same time.
The set is not huge and so emphasis is on acting in the tight area. It hones in on the performances. Awesome. Better than Oscar performances I've liked in the past. Was this eligible for Oscars? It should get some - editing, direction, cinematography, sound, and a certain nomination to Taylor-Johnson. If it doesn't/didn't then those a fixed as this was the best action/thriller film I've seen for a long time and in some aspects, ever.

If you expect a war movie full of action then you should just skip The Wall. If you expect a war movie with a lot of different characters then you should just skip The Wall. But if you're in to watch a war movie with psychological warfare, where a sniper plays with the life of a couple American soldiers then The Wall is worth giving it a shot. Because that's what you get. Aaron Taylor-Johnson is the main character and you will almost watch him for the entire movie. His mate played by John Cena has a much smaller role. The other big role is for Laith Nakli playing the sniper but him you won't even see, he's just a voice in an earphone. So not much characters, not much action, but still enough suspense to make it an interesting war movie to watch.
