It's a mild crowd pleaser for people who are exhausted by blockbusters.

Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.

Excellent characters with emotional depth. My wife, daughter and granddaughter all enjoyed it...and me, too! Very good movie! You won't be disappointed.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

Hit men, an ex-special forces operative, tough cops, a mentally-challenged kidnapper, a doctor and his pregnant wife...Well, it certainly sounds frenetic, and in a whirlwind of violence, that's exactly what was intended in this action-thriller, but in order for it all to work, we have to care a little about the characters and that, unfortunately, is where the film started to fall flat. Throw in a few dumb moments to spoil the intensity that's built up and The Target really misses its mark.A remake of a French film I've not seen, I can't compare the two to say which is better, nor could I genuinely recommend this to fans of Korean cinema or action, because there are so many better titles out there more worthy of your time... though, that doesn't mean that you need to change the channel should it ever be on TV.

The Target (2014) is yet another cool action movie coming from South Korea. As many other South Korean thrillers, the movie shows great sequences, super stunts, cool chases, bloody fist fights, fine acting and relentless fast paced action. On the other hand, maybe is because i have seen a lot of cinema from South Korea, but i feel that the plot was a little bit predictable, so for me the twist was not that shocking. However, if you are looking for an above the average action flick this movie is just the right thing to watch.

If you are a fan of action thriller movies , then you will most likely enjoy this one.The film benefits from a hard, gritty edge, with lots of brutal violence, fist fights, shoot outs, stabbings all of which pack a considerable punch thanks to some excellent choreography and stunts.Due to the action overload, there's sadly not room for much else, and the film doesn't do quite so well in other areas. The plotting might be somewhat silly, and pretty much falls apart as soon as you think about it, but it knows how to keep you involved. Despite its flaws,"the target" is still sufficiently engaging to entertain- especially since its pace is brisk and its actors easy on the eye.Its a solid and frequently thrilling cinema which should provide genre fans with sufficient entertainment and excitement..
