What is your favorite thing about Earth? I watched this movie three times and I say it's a masterpiece. The story, actors, music - brilliant. Have you ever seen soviet Amphibian Man? Just the same story - young man grown under sterile conditions in a closed environment. And then he starts exploring the new world which is not perfect and which is destroying him. He found love no matter what and this naive love story becomes the main theme. We need sci-fi story like that - Mars exploration, Earth protection and people's relations in the close future. Excellent, highly recommended.

Kind of sad that there probably won't be a sequel. Did some research after watching to see if there were plans and it turns out the movie didn't do so well in theaters. That doesn't mean it wasn't a good movie. The story was excellent and the ending makes for an intro to a part 2, but I won't get my hopes up. Its safe to say that we won't be seeing Tulsa visit the red planet even though the ending leaves open that possibility.

I thought this movie was very good and I loved it for it's uniqueness and heartfelt storyline. It also had some pretty funny moments that were played so well by Asa Butterfield. He is great and very talented, as was the rest of the cast. The criticism this movie got is not deserved, see it for yourself and enjoy a well crafted movie.
