The Scorpion King 2: Rise of a Warrior Audience Reviews

Diagonaldi Very well executed
CrawlerChunky In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.
Janae Milner Easily the biggest piece of Right wing non sense propaganda I ever saw.
Staci Frederick Blistering performances.
ryoendeprouw Normally I like to watch movies with an history like the mummy, clash of the titans, etc... But this was very hard to watch... and I've to admin this is a very bad movie...Why? First of all, the most important thing, the story: very poor storyline and script. End is so predictable...Secondly, the acting, awful acting, the actors don't take their role seriously, the don't live in their role. acting has no depth. No emotion at all...Effects, just amateuristic, not credible. Looks very cheap. Fighting scenes are not even better, poor choreography...
Danielle I'm a little surprised at the many one-star reviews for this film. My son (age 11) and I watched it one day when he was home sick, and we found it perfectly good entertainment. The acting was fine, the effects were decent, and there was a coherent story. That's a LOT more than I can say for other straight-to-video movies that we've watched, including 2012: Supernova and others of that ilk. Of course we noticed right away that The Rock was not involved, so perhaps we adjusted our expectations accordingly, and therefore were not as disappointed as other users on this site. Of course it's derivative of other mythologies, but that's not really a bad thing, when you're looking for an escapist 2 hours. As a side note, I enjoyed the main female character, who is pretty, but also strong and feisty - so often I almost grind my teeth down to nubs at the offensive way that women are portrayed in action movies - stupid, helpless, and clearly only there so the camera can linger on their cleavage and other, er, assets.
Pumpkin_Man When I heard about a sequel to The Scorpion King, I wanted to see it. I bought this with Prom Night and The Wizard of Gore remake. I thought it was just alright, but something confused the crap out of me! Mathayus's brother died in the first one, but this one takes place before the original, and his brother dies in this one. Unless he had two brothers, that did not make sense. Other than that, the storyline was okay. Mathayus wants to avenge his father's death, so he trains for six years. When he comes back, the man who killed hid dad became king. Later, Mathayus and his girlfriend Layla end up in the Underworld. There are some funny moments, but it's still not as good as the original Scorpion King! I probably wouldn't recommend THE SCORPION KING 2: RISE OF A WARRIOR!!!
ebert747 I rented this as the producers surely intended solely to see Randy Couture. Maybe he'd be fine as a seldom speaking hero, but he made a awful villain here. I think most of the rest of the cast was snagged on their way back to the parking lot after failing at try-outs for a High School Musical sequel.Thought this would at least have some good fight scenes but the fighting was even worse than the CGI which was dreadful, Power Rangers or Buffy Vampire Slayer level stuff. Worst movie of this type I've seen. This isn't worth your money even if you can rent it from Redbox for $1.00
