The Ouija Experiment Audience Reviews

Titreenp SERIOUSLY. This is what the crap Hollywood still puts out?
StunnaKrypto Self-important, over-dramatic, uninspired.
Micah Lloyd Excellent characters with emotional depth. My wife, daughter and granddaughter all enjoyed it...and me, too! Very good movie! You won't be disappointed.
Roxie The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;
christiaankiewiet-113-272821 Before watching this movie, I looked up the IMDb rating. I knew it was low, but I've seen movies with low ratings before and they were still fun to watch. So I thought, I should give this movie a go, even though it was bad.Worst decision of my life.This movie is the definition of boredom. Nothing happens, literally nothing happens. The only action I enjoyed watching, were the credits rolling at the end of this 'movie'. This movie rates a 10 on horror if it comes to acting. I didn't even know people were capable of acting in such a way, that my eyes hurt just watching it. But apparently they can. I would start about the bad plot, but there isn't one to begin with, so there's is no point going there.I would say this movie is just plain rubbish, but rubbish, in some way, has value. This movie doesn't.On the other hand, I'm very happy that I watched this movie. I can enjoy the little things in life now. For example, I can enjoy waiting for 40 minutes on the bus, watching the grass in my garden grow and waiting for my driver-license at the DMV since they don't bore me as much anymore, since I watched this movie.So if you're easily bored, go watch this movie! You'll enjoy life afterwards, otherwise, stay away.
suite92 Calvin and Michael are long-time friends. Calvin and Shay are boyfriend/girlfriend. Michael and Brandon are more recent friends. Calvin and La'Nette are siblings. Michael has moved to new digs that still contain many of the old tenants belongings, including a Ouija board. Brandon is interested in filming some sessions using the board.Most of the five leads think that talking louder helps communicate with the departed spirits. There is an early laying down of rules about the use of the board. The only one that seems to count is, 'say goodbye to the spirit' before ending a session. Of course, this is violated multiple times. Reading off a laptop screen to the camera does not add much for me about believability or acceptance of context.There's a subplot about Calvin and Shay breaking up. This was aided by the spirits, who told Shay of Calvin's cheating. Calvin blames Michael for the breakup and takes the Ouija board at one point. The camera is Brandon's, but ends up in the hands of various characters. This makes the plot even more disjointed.At 50 minutes in, I have yet to see anything dangerous or interesting or paranormal. How about that? That's when the mayhem and Internet 'discoveries' about the past begin.After such a slow start, will there be anything that redeems this effort as a horror film?Not really.
jackstupidjack I actually enjoyed this Found Footage style film. Unlike so many films in this genre the cast were fairly engaging and believable, instead of the annoying shrieking casts that usually infest the genre. Gone also are the overtly shaky moments and the dumb 'electrical interference' when the makers are too lazy, too unskilled, thinking themselves too clever for the audience to show what may be actually happening. To cut it short, this film stands out because it avoids the clichés which infest this genre and when something finally happens we actually see what is going on. No shaky camera, electrical interference, minimal glimpses of the ghosts, we actually see what is happening so don't waste the next five minutes of the film thinking 'what the heck just happened?', The cast are quite strong too, the direction and editing excellent which helps to carry the film along. Well worth a look.
jrosekonungrinn Intolerable death-by-boredom that plays as well as a 1990s home video of your friends playing D&D in your basement, except you could actually stand listening to _your_ friends.This is just one of those things that somehow gets on video because someone dug up enough money to pay for that. And it turns up on video or Netflix at just the right time to try and trick you into seeing it by having a title with one of the same words as the title of something that recently went to theaters (Ouija). That trick worked back in the days of VHS rentals my friend, but these days, we can hate you without losing $3 and move on.
