In truth, any opportunity to see the film on the big screen is welcome.

By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.

the refuge in past. the desolated present. and the need to escape . fragments from a film who could be defined as Sci. Fi..but who use memories about well known cultural references for say a cruel and touching story.it works. but not real brilliant. something missing as link between the last half of XIX- beginning of XX century and a weird , futuristic reality. the story of Pinocchio/ Galateea could be nice, seductive, impressive.but not credible. sure, it is a good film. not for prizes but for Lambert Wilson effort, for the drops of Tchekov and Matrix. but, this film about worlds, illusion, refuge and need of comfort in artificial circle could be more better.

"The Nostalgist" is an 18-minute live action short film from 2014 written and directed by Giacomo Cimini. Even despite the Italian-sounding name, this is an English-language movie from the UK. The lead actor is probably the most familiar face in here, namely French actor Lambert Wilson. Science fiction, maybe a touch of drama too, is really the only genre I would categorize this film as and the longer you watch the more you will understand that this is more about the visual side and effects than anything because this is where the film really shines. sadly for me, that is not enough and I found the story not really too convincing or engaging. For example the father-son relationship aspect left me completely cold here sadly. This is also why I would recommend this one really only to those that cannot get enough of SciFi (or of Wilson) and are not among the half a million people yet who have seen this on Youtube. I personally do not agree with the film's awards recognition and give it a thumbs-down.
