While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.

"The Muck" is a 5-minute live action short film from last year. The writer and director is the fairly prolific American filmmaker Tony Wash. And "wash" is also a nice reference to the action here. A young woman comes home, gets ready to take a bath, but it's not gonna be a pleasant, relaxing one for her. The actress in here is Callie Stephens and it is her only work so far in film, at least according to IMDb. Then again, she does not really have to act here. No talking involved and for the most part she basically has to pretend taking a bath in real life, maybe with a bit more posing than usual. But she is fine. As is the music and the creature at the end. All in all, a mix of scary and funny and it's working nicely. I recommend the watch, especially to horror film fans. Thumbs up.

A must-see for horror fans, the Muck is both thrilling and kitsch, and part of the upcoming compilation, World of Death, a massive undertaking to compile an international collection of horror films. The Muck is a great start. It is a classic thriller complete with a comedically horrific monster and a hot babe in 1980s jazzercise gear. I don't want to give anything away, so let's just say it does for the bath what Psycho did for the shower
But with over the top retro style and a sense of humour! This short screened to good reception at South by Southwest, and in generating buzz on the festival circuit Scotchworthy Productions has also peaked interest in the upcoming World of Death series.
