The acting in this movie is really good.

It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;

Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.

Remember WWF wrestling in the early nineties? Well the guy playing the lead role in this is the son of the "Million Dollar Man". Remember him? He had a guy called Virgil at ringside with him. Yeah, you know who I'm on about.In this film, Dibiase's son (also called Ted) plays a "Marine" who has to save a bunch of hostages taken captive by a madman. You can guess what happens in this end.If this was made in 1985, you could really see Chuck Norris doing it. Seems like the kind of film "Cannon Films" used to release in their pomp.

this movie was actually worse than the first one. i gave the first one 1 star this movie deserves no stars. this is a waist of money. Ted dibiase was horrible in this. his acting was horrible and another question to the wwe. why put a wrestler thats not even close to star power in a movie like this. the plot was just boring. Ted dibiase mostly stayed in a safe camp site while his wife was held hostage. yeah he really cares about his wife. and when he did go try and save her the movie was over in 15, 20 minutes. at first i was surprised a sequel to a financially successful film was released direct to DVD. now i see why.i had high expectations for this film then i find out it is a piece of crap. don't see this movie.

The Marine; part 1, released a few year ago was by the numbers,a violent explosion galore action film, that was fun, The Marine; part 2 is a better film,the script follows all the required scenes for this type film.. The reason I liked it better is simple.The actor who plays the lead, LOOKS LIKE he could be a Marine.]Ted Dibiase Jr. the son of noted wrestler acquits himself well.Like Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson & a certain governor he could have a career in action films. He definitely fits the bill, His acting should improve. Lara Cox is his wife, She is pretty BUT needs acting lessons.The film was competently directed by Roel Paine.Michael Rooker is as usual good. & heads a decent supporting cast.As I said above, this movie was released directly to DVD. Rent it, I think you all will agree, it is passable entertainment,Ratings: **1/2 (out of 4) 72 points (out of 100) IMDb 6 (out of 10))

The Marine 2 actually looked pretty good from the previews I saw while watching WWE shows. But the movie can't live up to the trailers at all. For starters, it's much too serious for my liking, and it didn't have the action I craved either. The original Marine was far from a great action movie, but I found it to be fairly entertaining cheese, The Marine 2 takes itself way too seriously. The Marine 2 also has the distinction of having one of the most blandest villains I have ever seen in Temuera Morrison. I don't mind straight faced Villains, but damn he played it too straight. Some decent action hits our way near the end, and I'll give Ted credit for doing his own stunts, and looking pretty cool in his fight scenes, but that's about all good I can say about it. The only 2 WWE produced films I have loved are The Condemened, and 12 rounds, The Marine wasn't bad, but the rest have been pretty crappy.Performances. Ted Dibiase has charisma, and for his 1st movie he did okay. He's not about emotion, but he does make a likable hero, he surprised me nicely. Temuera Morrison is one of the most boring villains I have ever seen. I like my villains with a personality, this guy had none. Lara Cox is pretty, and manages to play the love interest well. Michael Rooker is always a bad ass, and even in mediocre low budget films like this, he still comes through.Bottom line. I've already forgotten about The Marine 2. It's pretty boring a lot of the time, and I took it out of my DVD player, pretty unimpressed. Ted could have a future, but he better pick a better project next time.4/10
