The Last Keepers Audience Reviews

Nonureva Really Surprised!
filippaberry84 I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
Sameeha Pugh It is encouraging that the film ends so strongly.Otherwise, it wouldn't have been a particularly memorable film
Marva-nova Amazing worth wacthing. So good. Biased but well made with many good points.
sir_brettley The story is bland and the writing is sub-par, but what really tanks this movie is that the main character just isn't likeable. It may have been different if there was some sort of realization process the character goes through, like with Scrooge, but instead she just continues along, blissfully unaware of how she might be her own worst enemy. Her intended romantic interest comes off as weak due to this. Instead of standing up for himself he just meekly goes along with it as long as she' willing to tolerate his presence. The plot, which takes far too long to develop, suffers as a result. We don't really care what the main character is (about) to go through because we don't care about her as a person.
fence82246 Other's have said it better already...a complete waste of the last 85 minutes. A talented cast were completely wasted on this garbage of a film. I'd write a longer review...but I've already wasted 85 minutes...wait...87 minutes if you include the 2 minutes it took me to write this... I should have had a root canal done instead.
radarchick I generally liked the cast and the idea, but I cannot stand the high-handed ideology being forced down my throat. I get it that this is about saving the planet. Give your audience a little credit for a modicum of intelligence. When we got to see the internet search images about the evil of mankind I turned off the movie. Done.I usually go into movies without reading the reviews. After turning this off, I browsed reviews, and, since many users disliked the end of movie, I had to chuckle at my decision to quit while I was somewhat ahead. I have a few friends who are Wiccan and I appreciate the love and respect with which they view the earth. I had hoped that the story could encompass that belief without the societal hate message professed by the fringe. Maybe I would feel differently had I watched the entirety of the film, but again, it was just too ostentatiously anti-civilization for me.
jeqaljeqal The Last Keeper began for me as something to have in the background while I was making breakfast. I soon found myself watching it from the beginning. Applying Bechel's rule for a watchable movie for women this movie is rated 10+. Excellent cast. Olympia Dukakis, Aidan Quinn, Zosia Mamet, and Virginia Madsen. I was on the fence about the bf for a while but then I realized that people really are like this in real life. The characters were not cookie cutter, and there was a variety of people in the cast so I did not have to remember what people were wearing to tell them all apart. This is not a movie for people who are comfortable with men having the central role or a Jolie wannabe being the main female role. Kudos to everyone for breaking the mold, I hope to see more movies with women taking control of the action, dialogue, and physical diversity in the casting. I recommend this to all beleaguered film goers and stamp it good enough for a Sundance award.
