The Kung Fu Cult Master Audience Reviews

Diagonaldi Very well executed
Evengyny Thanks for the memories!
Phonearl Good start, but then it gets ruined
Connianatu How wonderful it is to see this fine actress carry a film and carry it so beautifully.
ebiros2 This is an all star cast film with Wong Jin directing, so you can expect high caliber action, and production. It was probably the peak of silver age of Hong Kong cinema when this movie was made, and we see two gorgeous actresses Chingmy Yau, and Chun Man as the two lady leads, and Jet Li and Sammo Hung doing the male lead. The story is little contrived in the middle, but they save all the good actions until the end. Wong Jin's directing and production is good. There's always one more treat at each scene that makes watching this movie rewarding.I only wish that there are more actresses like Chingmy Yau these days, who are pretty and gorgeous at the same time. Jet Li saves all his talent until the very end. He was not so well known outside of Hong Kong back then. Sammo Hung is spot on as the master. All this makes this movie an entertaining piece.Good movie from the '90s that almost looks like it was made in the 21st century.
OrlandoEastwood This film is just amazing, Jet Li and Kung-Fu fans will probably get a real kick out of this film. Jet Li is out to avenge his parents death and he meets a prisoner who escaped and she saves his life. They embark on a journey and corruption is exposed in the Wu-Tang. I was 10 when I got my VHS of the film and after viewing, the story is completely jumbled which led it to being one of my all time favorite Jet Li film. This film can make a great viewing experience with friends. This film also has a great cast, Jet Li, Colin Chou, Sammo Hung, Chingmy Yau, and even a cameo appearance by Ekin Cheng (he was the monk who tries to kill Sammo Hung's character at the end of the film). Don't miss it, I found it on DVD with some other Jet Li films for $12.
gridoon I had heard that this movie was bad, but I foolishly thought "well, it has Jet Li and Chingmy Yau, how bad can it be?". Answer: so bad that it makes you want to turn it off after only the first 5 minutes. Jet Li's fighting - everyone's fighting, actually - is ridiculously overdone and overedited; Yau's charming presence and smile is the only thing this awful, unwatchable movie has going for it. The plot doesn't make a lick of sense (as even those who liked the film have admitted) and the dubbing (of the "Evil Cult" version) is incomprehensible.0 out of 4 stars.
InzyWimzy OK people, ever ride on a fast roller coaster and the g-forces pin you back to the seat?? Then, you know how watching this film: it's a non-stop, fast paced adventure!!Interestingly enough, Jet Li's character doesn't know kung fu, which is a big disadvantage for him. It's really cool (and strange) how he learns martial arts. Soon, Jet's shooting fireballs like Ryu and battling all the different clans. There are a lot of people and fight scenes sometimes have fifty or more people at once on screen! This movie also gets high marks for the beautiful ladies who do try to seduce Jet Li (love that awkward look!!). Man Cheung is visually appealing as the "cunning" Chao Min. Chingmy Yau plays Jet's love interest (lucky guy!!) and she can kick some butt!Whether it's Wu Tang, Shaolin, Green Bat, or the Jinxes, this was one kung fu fantasy that has to be seen to be believed. On a side note, I was saddened that no sequel was made since things get very interesting towards the end.
