The Genius Club Audience Reviews

Bardlerx Strictly average movie
Flyerplesys Perfectly adorable
pointyfilippa The movie runs out of plot and jokes well before the end of a two-hour running time, long for a light comedy.
Abegail Noëlle While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.
Lele The movie was interesting. Far from perfection: mediocre acting, too long, lack of fluency.Anyway it is interesting. I know who or what I am: a being who was born, is living, procreated and then will die. Many people are convinced then there is always an "after" and a "before" because the whole human experience seems to prove this. To me is just a men-centered point of view: we come from nowhere and we end in the same way. Many other people cannot deal with this because they think it is reductive and then they believe in gods who built a human centered universe. ALL religions have to cope with things who go wrong, so they invented EVIL.Evil is a human invention, just like Good and ethics. Another idea shared by many people is that all questions have an answer. This is not true. Not necessarily true.Who am I? What am I doing here? Where do I come from? Where will I go after death? Maybe there is no answer.God existence. God DO exist. If not what are we talking about? Santa Claus exists too. If not, what are children waiting for on Christmas Eve. Numbers DO exist because I use them to count.Atheism, at least MY own kind of, does not deny gods. All gods exist. From Christian gods to Muslim's to Hindu's etc. People are not crazy!I don't BELIEVE that gods' existence can affect MY existence in some way. I do not believe that I have a soul that will survive after my death. I DON'T want a thing like. I want to DIE forever.People are more than 7 billion. World is inherently chaotic and future is unpredictable: who could have predicted European Union in 1945? And Communism fall in the 90s?After all the main them of the movie is correct: there is no answer.
swooned OK. I watched this and Suing the Devil over the last few days. I was looking for something really interesting, but in the end, both these films by the same director have a flavour of religion in them, which, for me, does not impress. It's pretty obvious Chen is a believer, so my research confirms.Acting: terrible. Music: disastrous. Destroyed any points to be made. But can we solve the world's problem? Some interesting questions within the appalling acting. Who am I? A very important question. Does it solve the problems? It can, but you need a driver to encourage this. What stops us from always looking at self? it's amazing not one 'genius' brought this up, even Chen to omit it in the script. Money. Money is the most oppressive measure that stop from understanding who we are. If we valued the quality of people, and not think to give it a price, we would always want to create the best, not the worst for the highest price. Time and resources are scarce, but what we can do with them is abundant. Money doesn't and can' represent people or wealth. Only what people create does. Money owns people, so give it up and own yourself.I could expound here, but to not bring up money in this films totally inept, considering the object matter. Believing in God is not going to solve the world's problem. Knowing you are a god is far more valuable for you to know. it's true, so get used to it, and act like one.
shellylin I hate to say it. but this movie is gonna fail in the box office. for the same reason no one showed up to its screening. but this will be one of the most entertaining cult movies ever. although it lacks the glam and actually will turn a lot of people away before they even get to the box office do to the subject matter, but they will all be missing out on a must see movie. I don't think i've cried this hard in a long long time. this movie isn't really intended to be anti-cancer, but there is some of it. Its more of a satire on the reality of people and how much we're willing to believe or willing to be dooped. I see it similar to liar liar not being about about the legal system but the moral and ethical decisions of people within society. overall I would have to saw this is a great great movie. Highly recommend it. And could not imagine this movie to turn out any better than it has already been with the perfect cast and great story line. I think the best way to encompass the movie is paraphrased in the movie's catchy line 'our world is one big beer commercial.
kimberlygonzalez I've seen this movie several times, and I have never even gotten tired of it. It does deal with college books, but approaches it with a level of sophistication and intellect never found before in sci-fi movies. Genius walks a very fine line between reality and the comic-book world, at the same time walking a very fine line in terms of audience perception. Some chalk it up to be a silly comic-book movie, others a brilliant intellectual movie. And yet, there are still others that maintain Genius Club theme does not exactly make it a world-issue movie. It's more of a drama, just like the Sixth Sense was more of a drama than a horror movie. Both are excellent dramas, but Genius CLub was superior in every aspect.I especially admired the camera movement, and the framing of certain scenes to bring to life an actual comic-book. I also admired how Genius was heavy on dialogue, making full use of subtle gestures, movements, and actions to represent the character's thoughts. The character's environment plays a similar role and certain colors are often brought up to represent distinct emotions and thoughts the character has.In the end, there are a number of things in this movie that can cause people to quickly denounce the movie, but these are all dependent upon perspective, as there's nothing truly wrong with the movie. In fact, if viewed objectively and with an open mind, the viewer might be much more apppreciative of Genius CLub.
