The E.Y.E.S. of Mars Audience Reviews

SeeQuant Blending excellent reporting and strong storytelling, this is a disturbing film truly stranger than fiction
Marva-nova Amazing worth wacthing. So good. Biased but well made with many good points.
Zlatica One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.
Juana what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
Aaron1375 I did not really enjoy this anime movie all that much. I really enjoy anime's too, however, I found this movie to be rather boring and not as exciting are good as other anime movies of this era like "Akira", "Demon City", or "Green Legend Ran" which had a story that had similar elements, but was a lot more enjoyable and fun to watch. This one I just kind of knew where it was going and the movie did not end up surprising me as it did exactly as I thought it would. The ending to this one was also disappointing as I knew it was going to end that way, but it was still bad seeing it play out. I mean there is really no urge to see that one again as you already know the outcome, everyone you see and get to know ends up dead. What fun, I mean I have seen depressing anime movies before, but this one has the added bonus of killing everyone, boring you to get to that point, and having a stupid final shot trying to indicate that this death of a planet basically brought about the continent of Atlantis, which I guess everyone died there too. The high tech people of Mars obviously do not have a very good track record now do they. There are some psychics in this one with special powers, but nothing that compares to the one found in the much superior film "Akira". The best I can say about this one is I like the setting of Mars, as it sort of reminded me of the live action film "Total Recall". If only they made the film more action oriented and not as serious it might have worked. As it is I found it dull and too preachy. I do not want to be preached too when I watch an anime, I want to enjoy the film.
Space_Mafune This film features wonderful animation and an unusual story. There's an unexpected surprising twist ending but the anti-technology pro-ecology theme gets pretty tiresome when repeated throughout a film--if they had left it to the end, it would have been better. A bit more action and human interaction between characters would have been an improvement as well. Still it was a nice attempt at telling a Science Fiction story that raises serious questions about how man treats his environment.
