The Devil Inside Audience Reviews

Inclubabu Plot so thin, it passes unnoticed.
Stephan Hammond It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,
Aneesa Wardle The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
Tobias Burrows It's easily one of the freshest, sharpest and most enjoyable films of this year.
Blue_Jay_Way If you enjoy scenes that come into focus and out of focus as the shaky camera also juggles, this is a great movie. If you think shaky cameras and blurry movies suck, then we are in agreement. This movie is so awful that I could not see much of it. The characters talk to the camera, because one of them is filming everyone constantly. So in addition to the shaky blurry scenes, we get annoying characters talking to the camera to let the audience know what they are thinking. I wanted to throw up on the television after a few minutes of this awful movie.
ianxmas When I realised that this was a 'mock-umentary' I nearly turned it off, but what kept me watching was the acting, or rather the lack of acting. If that sounds bonkers, what I mean is that the actors for the most part pulled off a rare achievement: appearing NOT to be actors, but seeming to be real people. I can only assume that those reviewers who rated the acting as awful spend too much of their time in movieworld and have forgotten how real people sound, i.e. unprepared, off-the-cuff and uncertain rather than speaking as if they obviously know their lines. In this respect, this film was remarkably realistic. On the whole 'exorcism' issue, this film also contained one of the most intelligent debates on the 'Possession versus mental illness' arguments that I've seen. So in conclusion, if you want a formulaic, shock-horror fright-fest, don't watch this. If, however, you want an intelligent film with 'real life' dialogue instead of smoothie-polished Hollywood glitz, and a different take on the 'religion versus science' question of exorcism then watch this with an open mind and enjoy a non-mainstream film.
Reneé Pongrass I try not to be too harsh when I watch horror movies, because lets be real here; I'm the lazy one that's spending nine bucks a months on netflix or shamelessly borrowing my friends DVDs to get an adrenaline rush that I'm too poor and too disinclined to go and find through recreational activities like bungee jumping. Whereas I stay in my room and watch horror movies all night and never contribute to society or interact with another human being in person unless I absolutely have to, people in their hundreds come together to supply my need for adrenal exertion so that I can go online and post reviews about what they spent eight months making and I spent eighty minutes watching. That said, I'm trying to be nice with this move. I really, really am. I saw the trailers for this... erm... 'film' all over youtube back before it's release, when I was terrified of horror movies and I had to turn off my speakers AND my monitor until the ad had passed by and I could get to my actual content. Back then, I thought it was possibly the scariest movie ever!I was also still living in fear of The Blair Witch Project's VHS dust slip. All things considered I have to give this movie some points for effort-- I haven't seen too much of science and religion in horror movies, at least not on the exorcism front. Though, this movie is just riddled with tropes and the ending is absolutely terrible from all angles. Story architecture is supposed to work like a hill-- you work up to the main conflict and afterwards everything starts to calm down. However, in this story, we work up to the main conflict and instead of being able to step off the escalator it keeps going, and now you're looking down at your family and friends who have watched normal movies with normal story arcs who are on the way back down the hill and you're frantic and panicking because you're supposed to be down there-- This is not how stories work! This crazy ride was supposed to go back down!-- And all you can do is helplessly keep walking because there's no way back down now, you've already crossed over the point of no return and sealed your fate in the realm of bad storytelling.
jennypatira Okay so I read your comments but I'd like to say the movie is different. There are some scenes that freaked me out but how many of you have heard about Demonic transfer? This movie proved that demons can get transferred from one person to next. Think in a view of Maria. From Maria to David to Isabella to Michael. That's demonic transfer. If you look at it in a learning way, you will have many questions like What is an exorcism? Or what is Demonic Transfer. I may have not seen it in reality before but I saw it in this movie. I learned a lot from it, thing is Have you? If you didn't pay attention to the small details you would not like it. If you did, you would agree that this is true. Choice is yours.
