Dr Maurizio Seracini is a pioneering scientist who has made his name by ingeniously adapting the latest medical and military technology to reveal the secrets of great art works. This film follows Seracini on his controversial journey to solve two specific Leonardo mysteries - the location of the lost mural, The Battle of Anghiari, and a remarkable new story he has uncovered about Leonardo's great, unfinished, alter piece The Adoration of the Magi.

The Da Vinci Detective Audience Reviews

Console best movie i've ever seen.
WiseRatFlames An unexpected masterpiece
Afouotos Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.
Derry Herrera Not sure how, but this is easily one of the best movies all summer. Multiple levels of funny, never takes itself seriously, super colorful, and creative.
mothersson Since the release of the Da Vinci Code all things Da Vinci have been in fashion on television. Countless documentaries have been spewed out for our perusal. Most seem to be just another working of the machinations of Dan Brown's 2006 film. The Da Vinci Detective for me was quite refreshing, concentrating more on the painstaking work of Dr Seracini over the past 30 years than on simple crowd pleasing. The first of the two part mini series takes us through the trials and tribulations that forensic scientist Dr Maurizio Seracini has faced trying to find Da Vinci's lost masterpiece, the Battle of Anghiari, in the Hall of 500 in Florence, Italy. The second, looks into his investigation of the Adoration of the Magi, Da Vinci's unfinished work, on behalf of the Uffizi gallery Florence, which reveals some startling new information for the art world.Informative and interesting for the lay-person, I give this a 7/10 rating.
