Sadly Over-hyped

The movie really just wants to entertain people.
Freeman
This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.

what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

The story itself isn't bad, but like so many of these Christmas movies, it isn't great either. The angle of finding her secret Santa is a little different. Having to save something (the residence) by Christmas is overused. There was an element that might have been a little surprising, but no big surprises. The orphans and what they did were good for the story. The acting was very flat. Michelle Trachtenberg has appeared in a lot of titles, but here she has no spark to her character at all. Chemistry between her and Sterling Sulieman is especially lacking. The editor and the guy playing Johnson senior both delivered their lines with little feeling.***NOT-QUITE-SPOILER*** I was especially unhappy that a dirty trick was not taken seriously enough. ***

I HAVE REVIEWED OVER 400 (C H R I S T M A S ) MOVIES AND SPECIALS.BEWARE OF SOME REVIEWERS THAT ONLY HAVE ONLY ONE REVIEW. WHEN ITS A POSITIVE THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE THEY WERE INVOLVED WITH THE PRODUCTION. NOW I HAVE NO AGENDA! I AM HONEST! I REVIEW MOVIES & SPECIALS AS A WAY TO KEEP TRACK OF WHAT I HAVE SEEN! I HAVE DISCOVERED MANY GEMS IN MY QUEST TO SEE AS MANY Christmas MOVIES AS I CAN. In this film "The Christmas Gift" The story is built around Megan, a beautiful 10-year old girl who is impressed by a gift that she received through Secret Santa. Not only is she impressed by the gift, she treasures it, since it came at a time in her life when she really needed it. As time passes, she never forgets the gift, and she never forgets the face of the little boy whose photo was attached to the Christmas gift. After almost 10 years, Megan, who is now a journalist, makes it her mission to find out the location of the little boy who touched her so many years ago. When she decides to approach the editor with an idea for the perfect story to find her Secret Santa, Megan's life changes in a way she never expects after finding him.In general the story is not that well crafted. The emotion on the actors have for one another is just isn't there. What should be noted is that this film is so predictable that you can see the twist coming. The actors are all fine and do great work here. The story could have used a little more work.
