SERIOUSLY. This is what the crap Hollywood still puts out?

What a freaking movie. So many twists and turns. Absolutely intense from start to finish.

I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.

There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes

Was expecting the usual zany Rob Schneider movie - was completely blown away. It was beautiful! A great message. Anytime you can see a transformation in an individual and watch how they become a better person, it's a good thing. At the beginning, we're wondering what has caused the self-destructive behavior, but as the movie progresses, we see the road he has taken, and where it has lead. The roles played by the Colombian girl and the three Natives were wonderfully done. I felt they were totally believable, and the innocence and beauty all four had contributed greatly to the film. I was also impressed by the role of Steve Buscemi. This was also a different part for him, and I felt that the dialog between the two brothers and their mother in the storage unit was particularly touching. The last scene brought tears - compassion was there and was exhibited through the saving the hawk metaphor. I would highly recommend this film and I just can't see where the criticism comes from!

It's as if everyone in the film was acting in a comedy... except Rob Schneider, who played it totally straight. Not straight in a funny way like he was the straight man in a comedy. I mean he played it straight, as if he were in a serious drama. My reactions were; confusion, disappointment, irritation... and finally... well, after finally seeing that Rob was doing a darn fine job of dramatic acting (even though this was marketed as a comedy) I fast forwarded to the end, then ejected the DVD.My final thought was, "Boy, he must have been mad at the director or something because it was like he intentionally ruined that movie by playing everything too straight." Rob is not a stupid guy. He had to have known he was screwing up what could have been a funny little comedy. Weird. I must say though, if his performance could be cut out and pasted into a drama it would have been very impressive.

I have just finished watching the movie and have read some of the reviews. I would say everybody has his own course of vision. Maybe someone awaited a comedic development of the plot, however the film proves the reverse course; it is not a light comedy that Rob Schneider usually used to play; instead it is a movie with a deep meaning and significant relevant mission that I , you , we need right now... I saw the collision of the worlds, I saw many symbols , I saw deep philosophy which a usual spectator can't notice during the first sight watching enjoyment. It is not a polished magic, but realistic shot of the usual life that can change at any moment with the help of not expected coincidence. The main hero is our counterpart, walks in the same line home- work, success- pain and TV. Where it comes to a critical point, his pretty wife leaves , it seems that his home turns to be empty and he is fed up of the same course, his life begins to lose its shades. When he almost loses his hope and feels like a total loser,a chance comes to him. The movie puts into opposition two sides of a human being; a man inside and a man outside. Mostly a man inside is kicked into the shade for the community wants the man outside, however the real you is you that you are inside, and at the end the hero understands it and after a interior conflict chooses himself as he really is. He releases his handcuffs, releases himself, he does a little thing and so does a huge bang. It is referred to so called "Effect of Butterfly" - small thing that you do turns out to be a big change in something that you even don't have an idea of.It is not a light comedy, again, sorry for repetition but a life that is full of comedic moments. I mean there are some moments that should make you laugh.Enjoy watching the movie.

The version I watched was a bit on the low budget end. I heard that it ran out of funding back in 2008, so they must have scrapped it all together and released it this year (2010).That all said, the movie itself is good. It's a dark comedy/drama dealing with a depressed individual (Rob Schneider), who is visited by a Colombian spiritual group who believe him to be the Chosen One who can set the world back into balance. Although it's a comedy, it is not of the normal standard that Rob Schneider usually plays (i.e.; Deuce Bigalow, The Hot Chick, etc.).I think if this movie was properly edited and had a real soundtrack attached, I would rate this movie higher. I say it's worth 6.5/10.
