The Calling Audience Reviews

Brightlyme i know i wasted 90 mins of my life.
Livestonth I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible
Patience Watson One of those movie experiences that is so good it makes you realize you've been grading everything else on a curve.
Geraldine The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
michele_hawks If you like cult movies like Army of Darkness, Starship Troopers, The omen or End of Day, anything that has to do with the world ending or the world ending with a religious theme then you might like this. The acting is OK and I could see the boom in the church seen. And the end of the movie caught me by surprise. So watch it on a night when you are bored and in the mood for the devil and some sex. And if you are not Catholic watch Dogma, it will give a good lesson about it. The movie is good but not worth ten lines, so you can submit it or not. We aren't talking about the God Father. Or Hamlet. Or The French Connection. Oh how about,She wore a yellow ribbon. Finally made ten lines and didn't have to mention Taxi Driver, and my old favorite Gone with the wind.
travistragic **Potential spoiler although I didn't make it a half hour into this movie** A quick peek at my movie selection, with such classics as Drainiac! and The Dead Hate the Living, shows how much I accept and appreciate a cheap-o horror movie. In fact, I bought this movie for $0.99 at Movie Stop because it had a pentagram on the DVD (it came in a regular clear DVD case). Had there been an actual box with it that said "a remake of the Omen starring that naked alien from The Faculty and the Borg Queen" I wouldn't have spent a nickel on it.I watched the first twenty minutes or so before realizing that the movie made absolutely no attempt to differentiate itself from "The Omen" and turned it off.If you've ever watched The Omen save the dollar you can purchase this movie with and buy a refreshing Coke instead. If you haven't watched the Omen, then I suppose you could watch this, it's not really that different, except it appears from the beginning to maybe have a happier ending. Again, I didn't finish it.I give it a 3 because it has a little better acting and special effects than a Shock-O-Rama flick, but then again, it's less original and has absolutely no nudity, let alone any lesbian sex (from what I can gather from the first twenty minutes which had several great opportunities for nudity).
ozthegreatat42330 This film is not exactly awful, but it is close. If you saw the omen films and enjoyed them, then you can safely give this one a miss. I wanted to like this film, but it rambled too much only to arrive at... nowhere. I had only heard of two of the actors in this film and frankly surprised that they would lend themselves to such mediocre parts. And the film was obviously made on a budget of $17.95.The basic premise was sound, but the script did not follow through and the suspense was not there. Within the first ten minutes you figured out where it was going to go and it was all down hill. There are a couple of disturbing scenes which really did not add to the film and I for one and tired of seeing the skin-head as thug sidekick/follower/disciple characters that seem to inhabit these cheap horror want-to-be films. To be or not to be-this film wasn't.
whpratt1 In this film there is a very young pretty gal who gets married to a handsome guy who has the large home and everything to go with a prosperous person. After the large celebration and all the people have left for the evening, usually romance starts in the bedroom. However, in this picture it encounters a walk through the woods on a moon-lite night and then a stroll to a high cliff area overlooking the ocean below. The couple embrace and make love on the hard rock surface, instead of a nice warm cozy bed; it is from this point on in the picture that things start to change for the worst. The young bride is pregnant immediately after the hard rock love making and a sweet lovely child is conceived for the entire world to enjoy. If you like this type of film and especially,"Rosemary's Baby", you will enjoy this film.
