Young urban couple Ed and Sarah are set to begin a new life when they move from London into an isolated borders Scottish farmhouse. After falling in love with the 19th century Castle Farm and seeing its potential as a fixer-upper they are anxious to get started on the renovations. In bed on their first night Sarah thinks she can hear noises in the darkness but Ed is disbelieving saying it’s her imagination playing tricks. Persisting in her fear they are not alone in the house, she forces Ed to investigate. When he doesn’t return after a scarily long period, she goes downstairs to investigate only to be confronted by a welcoming committee of masked intruders. As she desperately searches for Ed, a terrifying game of cat and mouse ensues with the mysterious assailants. But what do they want and what horrors do they have planned for the two newcomers?

The Blood Lands Audience Reviews

CheerupSilver Very Cool!!!
Tacticalin An absolute waste of money
Lollivan It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
Marva-nova Amazing worth wacthing. So good. Biased but well made with many good points.
Saul Hudson If you need to launder a lot of cash in a hurry one of the best ways to do it is to make a movie and that is the only sensible reason I can think of for this particular farce to have been brought to our screens. As soon as it starts you will know you have seen the same film with different characters hundreds of times before. There is no plot here that a 5 year old could not figure out in just a few minutes. It's a complete bore fest from start to finish....oh wait...there is no finish. The writers obviously figured why waste time on it. Best thing you can do is watch the first five minutes then scroll to the end. You will have missed absolutely nothing and saved yourself an hour and twenty minutes.
silver-41184 Reasonably interesting at first.becomes predictable.dies at the death. bizzare, and underwhelming ending.unlikable characters. some fun moments...mostly when the end credits role. I won't waste anymore time with this as its already had nearly 2 hours of my life :). Too add....Many people are reviewing this movie as "racist" It is not...... it's a MOVIE.... A MOVIE. ffs.
ggregd The movie is a straightforward, unimaginative but slightly suspenseful home invasions thriller. I was wondering why the bad guys were doing what they were doing (I knew nothing about the movie going in, not even the tag line). Wondering right up to the ridiculous ending. I was left wondering how the perpetrators in this story thought they would ever in a million years get away with it. Once the police find the guy with the sliced up face or the one who's face was bashed in they're all done for.
fairlesssam It's Sarah and Ed's first night in their new home in the Scottish countryside. Coming from the City they had a lot of money to invest in a property that the people from the surrounding area could not afford themselves. It's a beautiful setting and the movie portrays an air of the supernatural but that's a red herring. It's actually a home invasion type movie. The two main characters are absolutely awful from the start. Sarah is the most irritating character I think I have ever come across! The relationship between Sarah and Ed doesn't feel believable at all, there's no chemistry, no closeness that you would expect to see in a couple moving into a new home. Sarah is a nagging, selfish and irritating woman, if I was Ed I would have let her move to Scotland by herself. As they go to bed on their first night Sarah is unnerved and hears noises. She pesters poor Ed to death and ends up outside where they find a random pig. After going back in the house Sarah hears yet more noises and again nags Ed to death to go investigate. The poor man does and doesn't come back. So then she goes looking for him. What follows is one of the most intense cat and mouse games ever. It's such as shame that the two main characters are so badly written because the baddies and the stalking going on is/are brilliant. I couldn't bear to watch half the time.I liked the ending, you couldn't have predicted it.
