Borgarkeri A bit overrated, but still an amazing film
Joanna Mccarty Amazing worth wacthing. So good. Biased but well made with many good points.
james-overton Just caught "Te Quiero" on a French satellite TV channel. I agree with previous reviewer that director Poirier blew what could have been an interesting storyline by applying a very static and boring approach. He must have briefed the actors to be as offhand and inarticulate as possible. Strange as Patrick Chesnais for one is a very well known French screen actor, he did his worst, so to speak. Mind you the "scènes de baise" scenes (bedroom sequences) were livelier and the lighting there was OK. I was intrigued to see a young Sergi Lopez in a small role, didn't recognize him at first, perhaps he would prefer me not to have. The exteriors, shot in Peru in the style of a tourist camcorder collection, and the interiors added up to 2 completely different films. And what was the lesbian scene involving Marushka Detmers about?
deming I very nearly walked out of the theatre during this movie to find a more comfortable place to sleep. Minutes pass in this film with no dialogue--then when the characters start speaking, what they say is so banal you wish they would stop. The editing is occasionally choppy, and some scenes don't make much sense. The only redeeming factor, as far as I'm concerned, was the presence of several nice shots of the Peruvian crowd or of an interesting color. I thought Too Much Flesh would be the worst movie I had seen all month, but this has taken its place.
