Surprisingly incoherent and boring

As somebody who had not heard any of this before, it became a curious phenomenon to sit and watch a film and slowly have the realities begin to click into place.

If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.

The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;

In my view the best Dutch movie ever! Although from the 'eighties' the suspense and atmosphere are unique (for Dutch standards . . .). Hidde Maas plays an excellent role and his one-liners are absolutely THE BEST and unsurpassed! This movie definitely deserves a bigger audience. Have watched it >10 times and can recommend it to everybody. Friends of mine who have seen Wildschut all agree, this is high quality and many of them have seen the movie a few times as well. The one-liners by Jim (Hidde Maas) are razor sharp, his role very well played and the other characters do a (very) good job as well. Apart from big Hollywood productions (obviously), I haven't seen a movie since that meets Wildschut. Watching it more than one time makes it even better.

Superb Dutch/Belgian production. Saw it more than 10 times, and as far as I can remember one of the best Dutch flicks ever!!! Hidde Maas is one of Holland's most underrated actors! See it if you can find it, and tell me I am looking for it!

I have seen the movie about 25 times and I know all the dialoges by head. For example: "Nou je toch bezig bent, voor mij met ham graag, dubbel gebakken" and "je hebt me helemaal nog niet, vreetzak!!" and "zie je nou wel bolle, toch nog met lege handen naar huis". The acting can be rated as toplevel. One actor which deserves special attention in this is HIDDE MAAS. The phrases he uses are exceptionell, and however not intended for this purpose it propagates enormous laughter by me till I get pain in the stomach.

This is one of the most underrated Dutch movies ever. I just loved it. Very violent at times, but very effective. Very intense atmosphere throughout the whole movie. Maas does a fantastic job. A real creepy villain he portrays. One of my all time favorite movies. Has become kind of a cult classic in Holland.9.5 / 10
