Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie Audience Reviews

Rijndri Load of rubbish!!
Inmechon The movie's only flaw is also a virtue: It's jammed with characters, stories, warmth and laughs.
Bea Swanson This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.
Married Baby Just intense enough to provide a much-needed diversion, just lightweight enough to make you forget about it soon after it’s over. It’s not exactly “good,” per se, but it does what it sets out to do in terms of putting us on edge, which makes it … successful?
Eric Stevenson While I haven't exactly seen that many of them, I keep hearing over and over that anything based on a video game is bad. This was a wonderful exception and it is without a doubt one of the best things ever made based on a video game! It's just great to see all of these wonderful classic characters together and looking and acting just like they do in the games. I admit that I am not that big a fan of the "Street Fighter" series, but seeing as how it's been referenced so many times, it's very hard for me to not be familiar with it. My only complaint is that some of the appearances of the characters don't mean that much.I have yet to see any other Street Fighter adaptations at all, which mostly can't be better than this. Chun-Li is probably the best here. She is indeed represented as a powerful woman. She's also smart, funny and just enjoyable to watch. While I don't like the idea of her being taken out of commission halfway through the movie, it doesn't matter that much. I appreciate how realistic this was represented. The animation is absolutely gorgeous in this and it perfectly represents the characters. M. Bison is possibly the best one, if only because he's presented just how a villain should be, strong, stern, and scary. This more or less featured him trying to take over the world ("Of course!"). A pity the bad live-action movie came later this year. It still doesn't tarnish a wonderfully colorful film. ***1/2
disdressed12 i really enjoyed this animated movie based on the video game of the same name.i thought the animation was good, and i liked the story.there's also a great back story that's really useful to the viewer up to speed,if that aren't already familiar with the history of the characters.the characters(especially the main ones) were interesting and had some depth and development.the action scenes were great.the voice acting was good all around.this is definitely not for young kids.there is some nudity and a bit of language, and it is violent, thought i have seen much worse.for me,StreetFighter II:The Animated movie is an 8/10
one_evolver This Japanese Manga is superb. Based on arguably the most popular game in the history of versus fighting martial arts, is the movie of Ryu, who is at least the best fighter on this planet. His is the part I like the most in the movie, other than loving his character, the moment I saw him in the game in the eighties. The way his character is portrayed in the movie, is the way it should be and the way I imagined him: spiritual, lonely, wandering and most of all challenging. The story is overshadowed by the strong appearances of characters. For street fighter fans this must be a treat for their eyes as well as their soul. Check out its dialogs in this connection, which are not just dramatic but soul stirring. Ryu is the character from which I started connecting with Japanese video-game warriors, heroes, characters and their Mangas. So to come up to my expectations, it must have been a great effort(anime) and I tell you, it is.
bryandass When I first saw this movie, it registered as being one of the best Japanese anime of all time, together with Akira. The animations of all the characters are EXCELLENT and when there is a fight scene, you are sure to be amazed at how well-thought-out they are(eg.The Ryu vs. Fei-Long fight). The music and sound always fits in so well, its incredible...The bands are pretty good too(eg.Alice In Chains). People forget that this is Street Fighter-So what fans like me are looking for ARE a lot of intense fighting and anything to get our blood flowing, I'm not too concerned with subliminal messages of knowledge when I look at it. I can tell that a lot of work has been put into this and I'll never forget it-And I must say Anime worth watching in this day is REALLY hard to find with all the hyped up graphics, complicated storyline-crazed stuff and boring fight scenes which EVERYONE seems so interested in.):-(
