Species III Audience Reviews

Brightlyme i know i wasted 90 mins of my life.
Seraherrera The movie is wonderful and true, an act of love in all its contradictions and complexity
Christophe Excellent characters with emotional depth. My wife, daughter and granddaughter all enjoyed it...and me, too! Very good movie! You won't be disappointed.
Scotty Burke It is interesting even when nothing much happens, which is for most of its 3-hour running time. Read full review
SnoopyStyle After the events of Species II, Eve delivers an offspring in the ambulance. Dr. Abbot (Robert Knepper) escapes with the baby. He's an university professor looking to win awards for the alien DNA. He keeps the alien home who quickly grows up to be Sara (Sunny Mabrey).Species II is horrible. Following directly after those events is a mistake. Is this better than II? Possibly, but not enough to matter. The stink of II infects this movie right from the start. It's a mess that no writer can recover from. It needs to set a distance away from II in almost a reboot. The audience shouldn't need to watch the horrible II before understanding what the hell is going on. Knepper is a good creepy guy and Mabrey is hot. Otherwise, this franchise is done until they decide to reboot it.
Michael_Elliott Species III (2004) ** (out of 4) This sequel picks up right after the previous film as Eve (Natasha Henstridge) is being packed away while her newborn daughter ends up escaping with the help of a soldier. Soon this daughter cocoons into the adult Sara (Sunny Mabrey) and heads out to mate. This third film in the series is more or less a remake of the original film. Henstridge's cameo lasts a matter of minutes and then things are turned over to Mabrey who strips down and goes out looking to get pregnant. If you hadn't seen the original movie then you might enjoy this one a tad bit more but if you are familiar with the original then you're going to know countless plot points here and they all pretty much follow the same pattern as the first film. With that said, I thought the film was a major step up from the previous movie as we at least have some nice performances and a somewhat interesting story. I think the best thing going for the movie is the performance as Mabrey who has no problem slipping into the role. Since she's playing Even's daughter, there were a couple times where it seemed like the actress was trying to copy Henstridge but these moments don't happen often. When the actress gets to just play the character she does a nice job and she's certainly got a great looking body for the sexuality of the role. Henstridge is just in about five-minutes of the movie so people really shouldn't come in expecting her to have some sort of major part. The supporting players include fine performances by Robert Knepper, Robin Dunne and Michael Warren as an agent. The special effects really aren't too bad once we get past some silly CGI stuff early on. The make-up effects look quite good with the highlight being one poor slob who gets countless holes punched through his skin with blood, slime and some sort of acid spewing out. One major problem with the film, as with the original, is that it runs way too long at 112-minutes. There are some subplots that could have been left on the editing room floor and I think the film would have benefited from a faster pace. Another problem is that the screenplay is basically just remaking the original and after a while you kinda want to know what's the point and especially since the original is so good and you could just watch it. With that said, fans of the series will at least get to wash the bad taste of part two out of their mouths.
BA_Harrison Despite being mortally wounded, Eve—the human/alien hybrid from Species II—gives birth to a daughter, Sara, who is abducted by Dr. Abbot (Robert Knepper), a scientist whose ultimate aim is to win the Nobel prize. The girl quickly reaches adulthood (the grown up Sara is played by blonde hottie Sunny Mabrey, who wastes no opportunity to show off her stunning bod) and soon she is seeking a mate.Abbot, along with promising student Dean (Robin Dunne), conducts various experiments on the young woman, but with other 'half-breeds' seeking Sara out in order to have sex with her, things eventually go awry.Although Species III has essentially the same ingredients as its predecessors—a nonsensical storyline, hot nekkid chicks, and lots of gore—this time around the result is less satisfying; this is because they forgot one important factor: to make the film fun! The latest instalment of the series takes itself far too seriously, and suffers badly as a result.Natasha Henstridge makes a brief appearance at the beginning of this episode, but then its up to a cast of relative unknowns to make this poorly scripted and badly directed mess of a film work; and, guess what.... they fail. I don't blame them, however; with a plot as muddled and poorly conceived as this one, failure was inevitable. Even a cast of Oscar winners couldn't save this one from being a total stinker.I mean, have you ever heard of a college that is able to fund the building of a revolutionary nuclear fission plant? Me neither, but that doesn't stop the writers of this cack from throwing this dubious element into the mix. And what are the chances of your average college student understanding the complexities of combining alien and human DNA? Pretty slim, I would've thought, but to the students at this college, such things are child's play.As if to compensate for the film's rather far fetched and tedious storyline, director Brad Turner sees fit to pack in lots of explicit gore (which is always welcome) and another beauty with nice ta-tas—a second foxy alien, played by brunette scorcher Amelia Cooke (who does the decent thing and gets her kit off within minutes). But even with the blood, guts and bodacious babes, Species III is something of a damp squib.
disdressed12 for a straight to video movie, this one is really pretty good.it is darker in tone than the first one(we won't mention the unfortunate second one)and their is more of a sense of jeopardy and doom.it takes the intensity of the first one and brings it to a whole new level.we get a good reveal of the sinister alien in this one,and it really looks well done.this is a very smartly written film, with lots of action and some pretty cool kills.the story is better than the first "Species" with some added dimensions.the acting isn't really that great, but that's not really the main focus here.that belongs to the alien creature, played by Sunny Mabrey.if you're a guy,you better have a bucket with you, because you'll drool all over the place when you see this chick.as for the movie itself,i think it's better than the original.for me,"Species 3" is a 9/10
