I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one

I don't want to give the plot away, so all I'll say is that a scene near the end between Diggs's character and his brother blew me away. I could hardly get up to leave the theater. As often happens with these films, I don't think most people got what he was trying to do and say here. Vastly under-rated and overlooked, this movie has real value to the right viewers. I would urge anyone, anyone at all, regardless of their background relating to sports, to sit back and watch this movie, and to try to see it, feel it, through the eyes of the protagonists. It is unforgettable.

robertlangella in my opinion, this is one of my all-time favorite movies. they are correct when they call it "the rocky of the 2000's". this is a great movie that will motivate you to get things done and will also make you realize you can do anything you put your mind to."Slamma Jamma" is another one of those movies that shows you that anyone can make a difference. Even if they're at the bottom. But what this movie has over the other is that they do it with a lot more spice and character. Chris Staples, who is a real-life slam dunk champion, plays a character who's been through too much; but never seems to give up, no matter what the costs. Staples accomplishes this to it's total capacity. By showing the audience that working hard, never giving up, and giving it your best shot could inspire anyone to accomplish anything. Staples is also well suited for the role for his reflection of pursuit, emotion, and talent to take in the bad and the good influences. Michael Irvin is also good in the film.This is truly an inspirational film. You don't have to be a basketball fan to cheer for Diggs. This is a wonderful true-life example of a person stopping at nothing to achieve their dream. It is highly emotional and marvelously acted by all. I'm not sure how many of the details of this film really happened, but Diggs was a real person. He did overcome great odds. He should be motivation for us all.Not By FAr, But Slamma Is the greatest Football Movie ever made. The Determination and Heart of One Man That leaves you hooked through the whole movie is Outrageous. You Find yourself Pushing Diggs closer to his dream even though you know its just a movie. The ACting was well done, and the Scrpit was Perfect. The Ironic thing is its a True story making it even more conpelling. This is one of the Few movies that leaves a Happy tear in my eye at the end. If you Want to see a movie that is Worth the money to Rent or even Buy, See this one.Naturally assumes its rightful place among the great sports films of our time. It can easily go punch for punch and hit for hit with ROCKY, THE NATURAL, or FIELD OF DREAMS. It is the classic story of the underdog beating all of the odds to succeed on his own terms. Chris Staples doesn't perform Michael, he simply is Michael, and on his shoulders we are carried along on a great ride. A great sports movie, a great family movie, a great movie. Michael! Michael! Michael!I had a similar epiphany in my life where once I thought my life was all over and then I found there was so much more with some good effort and following your heart. peg1-318-155497 In a year of many bad movies (USA Today reported the year 2017 was one of the worst years for movies in 75 years), this was one of the year's best.This movie received very little hype and fanfare compared to many box office "turkeys" of that year did. It seems as though the theaters did not have very high expectations for this movie, considering the little promoting they did and release date they gave it. This was grossly underrated.I think the acting was really great. The actors worked great as a team to make a really heartfelt movie that is entertaining to watch. There are a lot of sports movies out there, but something about these guys dunking the ball just really hit home for me. I recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys sports and like great dramatic films with a lot of heart.I cried in the end of it cause its not just as most the movies that ends with wining or so cause it wasn't a team story it's a story of friendship and respect at a critical time when the lead character's mom died....it was very touching and sad.....I don't want to say much about it but its really one good movie full of feelings and challenge to so don't you miss that one..This movie is a very memorable movie, because it is so fun. It makes you feel good down inside, and it's an all around good movie. This should be nominated for a few Academy Awards. It would deserved it, but it won't. The title doesn't fit the pompous Academy.I would watch this movie again as it helped me believe that sports can have a deeper meaning than just winning or losing.Not only does this movie provide great acting, directing, and story but it also provides people today with a great message. Though race issues appear to be dwindling from the extent that they were during the time of this movie, a lot can be learned about the history of race issues and how the world has changed from 40 years ago with the help of this movie. The movie also contains a great message about humility. While Michael Diggs does have to deal with the problems of being black in a world out to arrest innocent black men, he stills manages to learn about hardships beyond race through players and others through a little bit of humility. I LOVED THAT.Seldom do movies come, which not only entertain us,but also teach us some values & lessons.This movie is just 1 amongst those!!!I believe that everyone should see the movie, because it doesn't appeal to just one type of individual. It's for Families, sports fans, couples etc. One of the best movies ever made.I read that little woman critic's review and laughed. You could tell she didn't have a clue about the world outside her little bubble.Oh how rare it is to find an inspirational movie such as this. Something people don't make anymore. This will have you welling up with tears of joy at seeing all people getting together for the better. I loved it when the kids got together.
