Cathardincu Surprisingly incoherent and boring
NekoHomey Purely Joyful Movie!
Brightlyme i know i wasted 90 mins of my life.
Abegail Noëlle While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.
Andrei Pavlov Yes, it's that good. Behind the flashy slick visuals a story of big heart and adventurous love unfolds. A story that changes everybody engaged. Changes for the better.Like the other Indian comedy, which I witnessed not so long ago ("Money Hai"), this one is marvellous. It starts with crazy atmosphere (some serious gangsters are having a party and during their funny talks a tough and very lively hit-man jumps out of the big cake and starts shooting in all directions) that never stops… It's got so many hysterically funny scenes and innuendoes that no contemporary Hollywood comedy can beat it (at least from what I've seen). Like the one where a gangster puts on a triple mask and each mask gets a punch during a funny "karate" brawl scene… You can easily enjoy it all together with your whole family - no one will be offended (a rare feature these days). It's very recommended if you enjoy good bright and clever modern comedies. It has more moral lessons than any drama I've seen in years, if you can notice them (I'll not spoil it by pointing them out here). This is a 10 out of 10 - big respect to India. Thank you for attention.
legend_killer0123 This movie is a good entertainer but once again its a remake of a Hollywood film. The storyline resembles Jackie chan's miracles. Akshay kumar's performance was good which i think made the film a hit. The songs are fine but i think its time that bollywood directors use their own brains. Vipul shah should have tried to change the storyline. The ending was stupid. I guess "too much cooks spoil the broth". i heard that they r now planning to make a sequel. I don't see how the story will move further but i hope that this time the story will not be copied. i would recommend this film to everyone because its a family entertainer but don't expect something extraordinary because its a light hearted comedy.
kat_777 Singh is king didn't seem worthy to be a box office hit when we see the movie from here and there. But if we see it for the second time from the very beginning till the end we may like it. It has nothing special in it but it can be called an entertainer.Happy Singh(Akshay Kumar) becomes a big headache to his villagers and they wanted him out. He tries to help but he ends up breaking a television or a pile of pots. The villagers along with Happy's friend turned enemy Rangeela(Om Puri) plans to send Happy to Australia to bring back Lucky(Sonu Sood) who may or may not come. That will keep him out of the village for some time. Happy is good at heart and he gets the chance to reveal it when he becomes 'the king of the underworld' through luck. At the same time he meets the love of his life Sonia(Katrina Kaif) by chance. What he does after he becomes the king and the changes he bring forms the rest of the plot. The movie is good if we see it as an entertainer. It is funny and humorous. Akshay Kumar was good. Katrina Kaif was okay. She had no big flaws in her part. Her dance is very good. Neha Dhupia was very good and suited her role so did Sonu Sood, Kirron Kher and others. Songs are excellent. Pritam's music direction with the punjabi touch is exemplary. Jee karda and teri ore are the best songs.Definitely worth a look. 7/10
sashank_kini-1 I it very hard to rate a movie such as Singh is Kinng. The main issue with the film is that you would love to bash some of the overtly silly scenes and dim witted humor. But I do not think that it is a 'bad' movie. Its something that watchable enough, if you want to have some entertainment.I wish they would've improved the B-grade script. For example, there were many cheesy dialogs and humor is completely wrong scenes. Like the one where Sonu Sood is injured and the others compare his injury to Sharukh Khan's in his movies and argue over the matter at such a wrong time. Then there was a completely foolish side plot of Kiron Kher pretending to be rich and living in a house where people have guns as their toys. I mean, where does anyone find the time to write such a bad script and spend crores on it? Was Vipul Sharma drunk? The songs were really good and the locations too suited the picture perfectly. I just didn't like the song in which Snoop Dogg was featured. Neither did he have his own space in the song nor was he needed. The song too was mediocre. The drama in the movie was so not required. I mean, come on, you don't expect much drama in such a film. Plus, the love triangle sort of resembled the one in Namaste London when Akshay helps Katrina marry Ranvir even though he loves her. All is fine in the end. Yawn!Katrina looks gorgeous in the film and her acting is good but she should try to improve as she was much better in Namaste London. Akshay isn't as likable as he was in his previous film, though he still hasn't lost the charm. Kiron Kher made me laugh sometimes but I just found her okay, as the role given to her became silly after a while. The side stories of the supporting cast ( The don's men and ladies) wasn't necessary at all. That was just to fill the gap or the movie would get too short.I do not understand where did Vipul spend so much money in the film? I've seen more action in other films and most of the film just progressed in Sonu Sood's mansion where the love triangle went on and on.Ranvir Shorey is terribly wasted in the film. Why was he given such rude lines? He just sleepwalked through most of the movie. Neha Dhupia was good and so was the supporting cast. Sonu Sood had nothing to do but was really funny. I especially found the scene where he was used to pass the drinks as he couldn't speak anything and his statue figure was taken advantage by his own men genuinely hilarious.Overall, it is a likable yet a vulnerable film as critics like me would crush some of the absurdity in it. 6 out of 10.
