Sex and the City 2 Audience Reviews

Softwing Most undeservingly overhyped movie of all time??
YouHeart I gave it a 7.5 out of 10
Smartorhypo Highly Overrated But Still Good
Jerrie It's a good bad... and worth a popcorn matinée. While it's easy to lament what could have been...
babypeke This probably takes the spot for number one most awful film away from Tango and Cash. I feel like I was robbed of 3 hours. Carrie is a whiny, unsatisfied, typical Jewish princess when her husband gets a TV for their anniversary and she tells him she would rather have jewelry. She is looking old and stupid in the fashions. The black hat she wore to the wedding made her look like Cruella from 101 Dalmatians. And the blue hat on the plane made her look like a revolving appetizer plate from a Mexican Restaurant. Samantha is just disgusting. She needed to be douched with Lysol years ago but now she is just an old "whore". Miranda and Steve were great and Charlotte, burdened with two kids, had the best and only good line in the film. When she thought her husband may take off with the Nanny, she thought, "Oh no, I can't loose the Nanny." There was a very thin story line filled with ridiculous situations that were so over the top suspension of disbelief was impossible. It was pitiful and the old ABC after school playhouse movies were written and executed better. It reminded me of the plot-less series called the Monkees back in the 60's. Mindless, gratuitous, convoluted, idiocy. It was just on TV. If I paid money to watch it I would demand a refund. Terrible movie. Just terrible. Boring. Ridiculous. And if you ever liked Carrie or Samantha you might hate them after watching this.
dirtphelia Other reviewers warned us all but I figured I could handle the crap on a night I need to turn my mind off. Oh, boy.Carrie was always really annoying, and Big should have done himself a favor and stayed away from her, but she actually manages to get even more annoying in this movie. I just want to reach through the screen and punch her in the face, then reach in her purse for Big's balls and hand them back to him. Trouble is, women like her exist in this world and I see them all the time - that's the saddest and maybe most angering thing about this movie, that such self-absorbed, self-entitled women do exist.Carrie shows utter disappointment when Big gets them state-of-art flat screen TV for their bedroom as an anniversary present. Instead of "thank you" she tells him - tells him! - that "a piece of jewelry would have been nice." The reason he got them the darn TV was that he had found it nice to lie in bed with her in a hotel room and watch old movies *she* likes together. The women just look aged and they try to remain young, which is sad. Just - geez...
Barry Jolie I am a big fan of SATC. I started watching the show when season 1 was on HBO, and I bought every single season on DVD. Although I did not love the first movie, I thought it was watchable.SATC 2 is something should never been made. I just don't know what happened (or not have happened) to the girls, so many years after the end of the TV series. It seemed like there is just nothing left to be told about them anymore. The girls are older, and yet seeming even more immature than before. The jokes are nowhere near what the TV series offered. This movie was just trying to milk on everything. And the fifth major character of SATC! OMG the CITY! The writer dared moved the story out of NYC and immediately the charm has turned way down. The fish out of water formula was not played well. Things turn a little bit offensive at times.True fans of SATC, it's OK to stay away from this one to save your fond memories of the show. It's a nightmare. A good example of illustrating when something good should be left that way. SATC is ruined by this movie.
Harriet Deltubbo Carrie starts a big fight with her husband because he doesn't feel like going out to a stupid party after working into the evening. Miranda has a new boss who doesn't like her very much. Samantha is old and needs to take hormones for menopause. From an artistic standpoint, there were some plot elements and character developments I didn't think were totally needed. They do however drive the story, which seemed to be their purpose, so I can accept them. Heartfelt and riveting from the first frame to the last. Great performances help to enhance this amazing story of a friendship. The kind of film that proves that a small story can be much more meaningful than a larger one.
