Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.

It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.

Amazing worth wacthing. So good. Biased but well made with many good points.

There's a more than satisfactory amount of boom-boom in the movie's trim running time.

See No Evil is basically a trip back to the good ol' fashioned no-brainer slasher genre, and is pretty much a modern day Friday the 13th type of film with all the hallmarks of one as well...gore, crazed killer, clichés-a-plenty, mediocre acting, thread-bare story/plot. As long as you're expecting any or all of this, and nothing more, then you'll be fine. The film on the whole is actually not all that bad, but when you start to see the same old clichés again and again, then it does start to become very boring. I know films like these aren't renowned for their realism either, but even for a slasher film the realism here goes out the window i.e. male & female detainees travelling together, detainees not being watched outside of the Correction facility, a Corrections Officer with only one arm. Like I said though, you don't rent/buy/watch movies like this for the realism. There is a good, dark atmosphere to the film, however, and this is the reason - along with the casting of Glenn "Kane" Jacobs as Jacob Goodnight - why I gave the film the rating I did and not a lower one. Was Jacob's performance fantastic? No, but it was decent enough and he done what was needed for a movie like this, plus he does have a formidable presence which obviously helped for the part of the killer. All in all, if you want a no-brainer of a horror to while away some time then you can do much worse than See No Evil. It's obviously nowhere near the best film of this genre, but it's definitely not the worst one either.

Eight petty criminals are assigned to do community service by cleaning up a filthy and dilapidated abandoned hotel. Unfortunately, said hotel proves to be the stalking grounds of vicious reclusive psychopath Jacob Goodnight (enormous professional wrestler Kane).Okay, the premise alone is pretty damn silly and preposterous, what with a small handful of folks selected to clean up in a mere three days (!) a massive dingy hotel with multiple floors which somehow still has electricity and running water despite having been ravaged in the past by a fire. Then there's the way director Gregory Dark, a fellow whose previous credits include hardcore porn, 90's soft-core erotic thrillers, and music videos for people like Britney Spears, Vitamin C, and Mandy Moore, goes gloriously whole hog on the flashy pyrotechnics replete with rapid-fire editing, shadowy lighting, black and white freeze frames complete with text explaining the specific offenses of each criminal, sepia-tinged flashbacks, and hyperactive camera-work. Dan Madigan's leave-no-cliché unturned script likewise hits the hilariously cornball spot with jaw-dropping bluntness: Jacob naturally turns out to be the dangerously toxic product of childhood abuse and a strict religious upbringing while the obnoxious victims clearly mark themselves for doom by smoking weed and making out.The acceptable acting by the competent cast holds the picture together: Rachael Taylor as snooty rich bitch Zoe, Christina Vidal as the sassy Christine, Michael J. Pagan as the smooth Tye, Luke Pegler as swaggering thug Michael, Samantha Noble as the hapless Kira, Craig Horner as the nerdy Craig, Penny McNamee as sensitive vegan Melissa, and Steve Vidler as rugged ex-cop Williams. With his bald head, evil leer, and hulking physique, Kane makes for a genuinely fearsome and intimidating horror fiend. The moments of gory and sadistic brutality pack a savage punch, with plenty of ugly eyeball violence and a memorably nasty cellphone-shoved-down-the-throat gag. Ben Nott's grayish cinematography provides an appropriately gloomy'n'grungy look. Fun slasher schlock.

I picked this up years ago due Kane being in it as the evil slasher and following WWE that's how I did know him and of course being filed under horror it was a must see for me but somehow it ended in my collection without watching it until today, yes, 9 years later. Why I didn't watch it was that it wasn't popular under the geeks but I must say that it is just a no-brainer with some nice effects here and there and a bit of CGI towards the end which worked out fine. What I didn't like was the acting and story throughout this flick. Why the killer became what he is is explained and that part was okay especially with the song and mother being introduced but the rest lacked suspense. Of course the youth being involved is a bit of the tough kind but somehow I didn't believed it. Another problem is the fact that there is a shower scene and I have said it before, if you are stripping for the camera then show it all in stead of covering behind towels. Face it, it's an 18+!!.Kane himself does what he does best, looking angry and throwing people through the air just like in WWE. It's the gore that upgrades this flick but I can understand that some buffs didn't liked it.Gore 1,5/5 Nudity 0/5 Effects 2,5/5 Story 2/5 Comedy 0/5

See No Evil is definitely one of the best films WWE studios has ever produced. It brought back the classic slasher genre and the style of many great franchises such as Halloween, Friday The 13th etc. I don't see anything wrong with it, for what it is, it is a very solid film. I love Kane in and out of the ring. And he play a very good, creepy psychopath. Gregory Dark created what could be a new beloved killer in Jacob Goodnight. The film is fast paced, not too long. The gore is fine, not OTT like most films. The acting is perfectly fine, the characters are well written. The film is just really good altogether. The fact that they took the idea of Psycho and made Jacob's mom the real villain, and Jacob as a so called "instrument" of death, was very inventive. I enjoy this film. It is entertaining. It was cool to see WWE Studios produce a horror film, and the film, in my eyes, is one of the better slasher movies that has been made. 10 out of 10. Very good.
