Sci-Fi High: The Movie Musical Audience Reviews

Plantiana Yawn. Poorly Filmed Snooze Fest.
SnoReptilePlenty Memorable, crazy movie
Tedfoldol everything you have heard about this movie is true.
Michelle Ridley The movie is wonderful and true, an act of love in all its contradictions and complexity
robert haynes This is bottom of the barrel film-making but, if nothing else at least they tried to be different. Unfortunately, it didn't work. The music is bad, the production design in shocking (most of the film looks like it was shot either against a green-screen or at someone's house) and unforgivably, the mix of the film is bad. When you're making a musical your sound has to be good guys. This is a dreary, lackluster, badly performed, hammily acted mess, which is a shame considering I love musicals. In fairness though i did only manage to sit through about half of this film, I resembled a scene from Scanners, it was just before the moment my head was about to explode that I turned the film off.As the other reviewer said, only a masochist would endure an entire viewing.
rbcpapc I thought this movie was good. My teens loved it. Takes you back to 50's type high school Good Drama Especially the classroom " Detention scene". Billy sings a song Elvis style. I would have liked more singing, but again Im an Elvis fan Cafeteria scene is funny. Something out of animal house. I got a kick out of the guy who chases the girl who is disgusted by him Teacher on stage was funny too, wouldn't shut up like any teacher LOL. I don't know what the reviewer is talking about . I don't see any offensive vulgar or insinuations. The comments about back door? You can't say anything these days! She's probably frustrated LOL. Elvis has NOT left the building!
Ebell881 I'm not understanding this reviews. i bought the movie as well being a sci fi freak, although not the best audio and quality it is obviously a low budget film, worked with what they can. the songs too stayed in my head, but wouldn't that prove the score to be successful? i appreciate the originality of combining the original concepts of a musical, a sci fi film, and high school angst. I personally though the characters were hysterical, especially that jock who looks like biff from Back to the Future. There were some great shots and almost had a grease-like feel to it.if you're looking for Hollywood, million dollar-budgeted movies and effects...blockbuster shouldn't be too far away.
fleaguit First off, allow me to say that the idea seemed ridiculous from the outset. A Sci-Fi Musical? Really? But my kids love High School Musical, Twilight, and all that supernatural crap, so I bought it for them. I figured maybe it would be a low budget cult film, could be cool. Maybe some good songs. Maybe my kids would like it.And unfortunately, they did. Now my 12 year old is walking around the house singing "Leave Your Backdoor Open," one of the numbers in the film that is clearly an ode to anal sex. I don't even want to think about having the conversation with her later in life as to why daddy showed her this film.I would complain about the violence in this movie, but it's so poorly done it's not even worth mentioning. The acting wasn't terrible, except for that guy who plays "Eddie." That smug jerk with his dirty mouth almost ruined the whole movie for me, I couldn't stand to watch him on screen for a moment longer.Bottom line, stay away from this film. Half the songs are still stuck in my head, and I'm not happy about it.
