SunnyHello Nice effects though.
GurlyIamBeach Instant Favorite.
Matialth Good concept, poorly executed.
Mabel Munoz Just intense enough to provide a much-needed diversion, just lightweight enough to make you forget about it soon after it’s over. It’s not exactly “good,” per se, but it does what it sets out to do in terms of putting us on edge, which makes it … successful?
bcasandra I also enjoyed this movie because it brought back good memories. In 1978 I was 17 and the thing to do on Sunday nights was going to the skating rink. Mama bought me skates so I wouldn't have to rent and I wanted to learn to do roller disco. I thought I was getting pretty good and while skating to "Good Times" I tried a move that I shouldn't have and broke my left leg. After it healed I went back to the rink but didn't try anymore fancy moves. I doubt I still have the skills and most of the rinks here are not a very good spot for kids. When my daughter was a teen, I took her and some friends to a rink and there was more dancing in bare feet than skating. Kids today don't know the fun they missed in "the old days." I also liked the soundtrack from the movie and am looking for one to play and drive my daughter crazy! She HATES disco!
Beth Lynch This movie brought back a lot of fond memories of the skating rink. It is definitely better than the average score given on IMDb. Despite some adult language by the teens in this movie, the story is light-hearted and tender. Bow Wow Shad Gregory Moss is definitely following in the steps of Will Smith in acting. He's a true talent! This is a family must see for parents 35 to 45 with teen children. A lot of "Awe, man, I used to have one of those/did that" moments: the Atari, the inchworm toy scooter, sissy bar bikes; the all skate, the couples skate, the lady's choice skate, trying not to fall down, learning how to skate backwards, popping the water blisters so you'll be ready to skate next time; young love and young lust without sex; the staying out all day in the neighborhood with your friends during the summertime and not going home until the streetlights flick on. That was the last generation to enjoy childhood innocently - that was my childhood! If you were a child in the late 70's and loved to skate, you will love this movie!
kyleowens I have seen this movie for like the 5th time. I think it is an awesome movie.Good movie for the kids, no sex or harsh language. One bad word in the whole movie and trust me most kids hear that word ever day I remember the age of roller disco and the movie brought back some really cool memories. My daughter loves BOW WOW and she has watched it several times with me. My husband, who mind you did not want to see it, actually enjoyed the movie.I laughed and i cried and put on my skates and tried to roller disco. Being in the roller derby, that was a given. Bow Wow was great in the movie. I would suggest this movie to anyone, whether they grew up with roller disco, have heard of roller disco or have never heard of roller disco. Roller disco will come back one day just like the roller derby did.. Go Harrisburg Area Roller Derby
awparran The disco era was the favorite time of my life. I miss the music, the people and most of all the roller skating. I never mastered roller dancing, thus when I see movies like this one, I move and dance across the floor, no skates, as if I were there on the floor too.The movie has a basic plot, yet it's good.I didn't find too many objectionable words, at least not anything that "most" children has not heard before.I recommend it for anyone wanting to have fun, yet be entertained. It has a serious side as well. I was caught off guard with the destruction of the car, but I could identify with the character since I was once a single parent with two-boys. I think Nick Canon's part is a little overplayed, but that's OK.Otherwise Great Movie!
