I enjoyed watching it. It's pure goof and silly fun. As far as bad movies go, this is one of the better ones. Not for everyone, as the 10 star and 1 star reviews indicate but the chemistry between Belushi and Ritter works. John Ritter as the lost look-alike in the world of guns and spies works and the "what are you going to do with a gun that will blow up the entire planet?" "Point it at the Russians" - that gets me every time. It's still not a good movie, but I enjoyed it. Solid 7.

Let it be known that I'm a huge fan of madcap, underrated comedy like Hudson Hawk, Wild Hogs, Last Action Hero, etc. For me, the secret to humor is surprise and I saw literally all but two of the gags coming well before they were executed -- badly. For those two times, and the subsequent laughs they gave me, I give this film two stars. :-)As far as the plot goes, it was equally predictable. Normally, I do not mind that in this kind of movie. After all, it's supposed to be about kicks and giggles, not about telling an interesting story. But, without the requisite giggles, I found it nearly unwatchable. Belushi was absolutely impossible to like, and his chemistry with John Ritter was virtually nonexistent. Do yourself a favor, and avoid this film.

James Belushi plays a tough CIA agent saddled with John Ritter who bears a striking resemblance to one of his fellow agents who was killed before he could give a glass of water to the aliens so that they would give us the special package to stop the destruction of all life on earth in five years. Yeah, it's a comedy. John Ritter is perfect as the fool, nobody does it better. The bit where he thinks pointing at the bad guys while saying bang is killing them is a good example. The problem is the direction, the pacing is way off. There is too much time between punchline and payoff. It leaves the audience too much time to notice the absurdity of the plot, which wouldn't matter if the plot zipped by. Reality doesn't matter as much in comedy. This is fun to watch every once and awhile, but it's no Airplane! or Young Frankenstein.Nick * "You have a good sense of humor. Very funny from beginning to end! I watch this movie over and over and enjoy it more every time. It's great to see the friendship and bonding develop between Belushi and Ritter as the movie progresses. And just when you think they have finally bonded, Ritter will make a run for it. and Belushi will convince him to stay. Some of the best scenes are when Ritter finally realizes his purpose, and the skills he has learned, and puts them to work, and when he finally realizes his mission and takes it seriously.This movie is not only funny but also filled with lots of action.Watch for the scenes with Belushi's "dad" and when Ritter clobbers the milkman.
