Yes, absolutely, there is fun to be had, as well as many, many things to go boom, all amid an atmospheric urban jungle.

The best films of this genre always show a path and provide a takeaway for being a better person.

One of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.

Gamecocks said it very well - if you don't get goose bumps during the final scene of this movie you can't be human. That must explain why I have watched that scene about 50 times on Utube. You can find it by entering 'Utube I cross my heart' on the AOL search bar. You will not be disappointed, I promise you. I have also watched the entire movie more than five times - and if you don't want to purchase the DVD, you can watch it on Utube for nothing. One scene involves Wyatt, Dusty's off stage name, being given a beat down by Al outside a bar in the evening when it was raining, since Al was annoying Harley. Wyatt ends up in the mud, looking up at Harley. Harley gets Al away from Wyatt by pinching his hand in the door of her truck and then slamming the door in his face, breaking his nose. By the way, by now I have fallen in love with Harley, and likely will always love her. Harley takes Wyatt to her home, and invites him to breakfast. When Wyatt sees Al driving up in his pickup, then annoying Harley again, he walks out to where they are. Al, who has tape on his nose and a bandage on his right hand, asks Wyatt if he wants another beat down. Wyatt shoves Al, who is much bigger than Wyatt is, and Wyatt says 'absolutely', a great use of a word reflecting the quality of this film. Al swings his fist at Wyatt, but Wyatt ducks under it, then breaks Al's nose for a second time. On his way back to Harley's house, Wyatt steps on Al's injured hand.

I'm not a fan of modern country. I am more of a George Jones, Ray Price, Eddy Arnold kind of guy. I thought I would give this a shot because it sounded like a really good story.Certainly, the song "When Did You Stop Loving Me?" was the type of song I like. The King of Broken Hearts was magnificent, as was I Cross My Heart.George Strait can definitely act, and Isabel Glasser was someone I want to see more of.Sure, it was a little sappy, but the message was clear. Sometimes you have to go back to your roots and find out who you really are.

Pure Country The reason country music is so accepted amongst the lowly ranks is because the number of strings on an acoustic guitar is the highest number that fans can count to. However, it's not his followers' idiocy that drives the singer in this drama to abandon his stage act. While on tour, a country star, Dusty (George Strait), frustrated with the commercialization of the industry, decides to walk away from his overblown stage show. Later, a local farm girl (Lesley Ann Warren) helps Dusty get reacquainted with his rural beginnings, and, in turn, he helps save her ranch. A hokey honky tonk tale accompanied by toe-tapping ditties, Pure Country distills the genre down to its purest form and embraces it. And while a lot of country music fans would like to see the genre return to its Southern roots, it's unlikely that radio stations will start playing anti-Yankee or pro-slavery songs. (Yellow Light)

"Our love is unconditional" That and so much more. George Strait can bring a tear to your eye in "Pure Country", the story of a country artist, Dusty Chandler, being driven over the edge by his manager, and her presentation of his show. So, he leaves his band, his tour, his manager, and his life behind while he tries to find himself. Along the way though, he finds a girl that he falls in love with. And she is his inspiration to go back on tour and start performing again. Love is an important aspect of life, and it knows no boundaries.Although, while Dusty is gone from his tour, one of his band members impersonates him, and Dusty can hold a grudge too! Some parts funny, some sad, some romance along the way. All this and more makes for a great movie. Don't take my word for it, watch it yourself, and enjoy.
