Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

A fly bugs the heck out of the Pink Panther, who is trying to enjoy some quiet time at home. So, the panther tries a number of things to try to get rid of the pest, from swapping at it to disguising himself as a frog to using a vacuum cleaner (which for some reason can suck up just about anything!).Of course, the pesky and annoying fly just about get the best out of the Pink Panther, with predictable moments one after the other. Only the ending was quite surprising and a little satisfying. And, the funniest part was the Pink Panther's "lovely" violin playing.Grade C-

Pink S.W.A.T is not among the classic Pink Panther cartoons(i.e. Pink Phink), but it is a long way from the worst(Pink-In, Pinkologist and Cat and the Pinkstalk). The strongest element to Pink S.W.A.T is the chemistry between Pinky(Pink Panther) and the fly. Pinky is likable and easy to feel sorry for, and he is very funny without even saying a word, instead the body language does all the talking. The fly works very well with him, it's a somewhat very irritating character(especially the buzzing noise) but as Pinky spends the entire cartoon being visibly irritated and trying to get rid of it, not to mention the fact that flies are very irritating anyway, that was almost certainly the intent and that's why the interplay between them was as strong as it was. The theme tune still appeals even after being exposed to it close to a billion times already, and there are some very funny moments here. The gag with Pinky dressing up as a frog and the fly tricking him by dressing up as him was the cleverest one, and the violin gag was funny too. The ending was very interesting for being one of few, if any times, where neither character wins and there was some well-done animation in the scene, the close up with the fly was fun too.Not all the gags work, the accidentally-bang-on-the-head and fly-eating-Pinky's-food gags were ones anybody can see from miles off and the flicking on and off of lights was a little too drawn out. The story outside of Pinky's frog disguise and the ending held little surprises and while not suffering from too much narrative or too many gags there was a rushed feel, it does wisely slow down from the frog disguise gag onwards but the first half could have taken its time more. Where there was more of a hurried feel was in the animation and music. The animation in the 1975 Pink Panther cartoons did get hit and miss, here in Pink S.W.A.T it's neither, there are some nice colours at least and the two characters are drawn well but the backgrounds do have a really simplistic scratchiness and do lack detail. Theme tune aside, as said before the more I hear the music from the 1978 batch onwards the less it appeals, it's memorable certainly but in a repetitive way and the feel of it is too upbeat and in-your-face, the slinky and much more subtle instrumentation is missed here. All in all, amusing but unexceptional. 6/10(but a high one) Bethany Cox

In 'Pink S.W.A.T.' we see a fly irritating the pink panther. The panther tries to kill the fly but instead of doing that he breaks a lot of things in his own place. There are some funny moments in this short, especially when we see the fly in close-up, but it is not that great. Most jokes are too predictable. The ending is quite good.
