This is How Movies Should Be Made
Gutsycurene
Fanciful, disturbing, and wildly original, it announces the arrival of a fresh, bold voice in American cinema.

The movie is wonderful and true, an act of love in all its contradictions and complexity

The Pink Panther gets hired at a cafe next to a construction site, but contributes in getting food inadvertently splattered on a bossy construction worker. It's pretty funny stuff here, from the construction guy getting pie splatter in his face to him biting into a very hard pizza. You will get some chuckles here and there and the panther seemed to be collaborating with the pointy-nosed man (the cafe owner) this time, for a change.Lots of entertaining moments, nothing too boring and some unpredictable moments. The Pink Panther is in his classic form and, while he could have been a little more sly and clever, it's still a pretty good cartoon.Grade B

I agree that Pink Blue Plate is one of those cartoons that is funny but more in an amusing way rather than in a hilarious way. The gags are not that original but make for good entertainment still and most of the pacing is solid though with a few lulls. The story is very routine, a different setting but it is not much different from other characters having trouble from what Pinky causes. Pink Blue Plate is still very nicely animated with simple but elegant drawing and good use of colour. As well as well-scored, the theme tune deserves its classic status and still doesn't tire and the orchestration is jazzy and sly in a style that was reminiscent of the 60s-70s and is still relevant and appealing now. Pinky is still the cool, likable and effortlessly funny character that makes him such a good character in the first place and he is supported well.To conclude, a solid entry of the Pink Panther cartoons but not great and short of the best ones. 7/10 Bethany Cox

The Little White Man runs "Joe's Diner," situated right next to a construction site, so he gets busy at lunch time. Actually, "swamped" is more like it and he's forced to put a "help wanted" sign out front. You know who applies, don't you?Well, now our Pink Panther is a cook at the diner and most of the story then revolves around some big, burly foreman-type worker not exactly getting his order done correctly at the diner and the poor owner suffering the consequences. This is a recurring theme in the Pink Panther cartoons: others getting in trouble for things the PP does.It is funny, but not laugh-out-loud variety, more of the "amusing" kind of cartoon. In other words: okay, but nothing special.
