How wonderful it is to see this fine actress carry a film and carry it so beautifully.

Essentially, what we have here are two competing serial killers working in a remote area. Wheeler (Moriarty) drives a big rig as he hunts for victims while Walker (Kole) hoofs it as he targets his victims. Caught in the middle is Stacia (Balk) a young woman who is stranded in the backwoods after the bus she is a passenger on breaks down. There are several very funny moments in a creepy way, like Stacia thinking a couple in the motel room next to hers are having the sex of their lives. I probably don't have to tell you what's actually going on, other than to mention that our merry killers are nearby. The eye-popping finale contains a huge and comical twist. Moriarty is the main reason to watch this flick. He has always been an amazing actor who clearly made a huge mistake when he pulled out of LAW AND ORDER early on.

"Pick Me Up" is a riveting slice of horror from horror master Larry Cohen. Directed with flair, this cautionary tale about trusting strangers offering a lift is compulsive viewing.Cohen regular Michael Moriarty plays the disturbing Jim Wheeler (named, perhaps because he likes to drive) while Warren Kole's vehicle-less character is called, appropriately, Walker. To say anymore about the plot would ruin the surprises in store for the viewer.Darkly humorous and unsettling, David J. Schow's short story is a memorable hour of television.8 out of 10.

Pick Me Up (2006) ** (out of 4) Disappointing installment from Larry Cohen about a bus breaking down and one passenger (Fairuza Balk) who decides to walk to a nearby motel. The young woman eventually gets caught between two serial killers who have different ideas on how to murder. One (Warren Kole) kills those who pick him up while the other (Michael Moriarty) kills whoever he picks up. The first fifteen minutes of this film are very fast paced with some suspenseful moments but things go downhill once we hit the motel. The pace slows down and nothing too exciting happens, which one must blame the screenplay for. Moriarty steals the show with his sly humor.

Indeed, this episode in "Masters of Horror" goes a good job. he makes a bit fun of himself, same way "Scream" made to herself, and we all remember "Scream",don't we?anyway- the acting was very convincing, and so was the horror. a young girl founds herself in a battle of two crazy men who will do anything to add her to their list of victims. Indeed, kinda like "Freddy vs. Jason".of curse,to add a bit more gore and horror, we found more Victims that must be killed. each one by a different killer, which makes the all thing very interesting."I drive, and he gets picked up" - thats how one of the killer's see himself and his little work buddy. they are both killers, but they are so very different.this one is a bit funny just like scream, a bit gory just like Freddy vs. Jason, but in the end- he brings something i and I'm sure none of you ever seen before. one killer against another one, and that-my dear friends-is something that worth an hour of your time.
