Ehirerapp Waste of time
SeeQuant Blending excellent reporting and strong storytelling, this is a disturbing film truly stranger than fiction
Senteur As somebody who had not heard any of this before, it became a curious phenomenon to sit and watch a film and slowly have the realities begin to click into place.
Deanna There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.
Jade McPherson Great instalment in the Paranormal Activity series. I personally like it just as much as the first three films but it is the first one that doesn't have the sisters (Katie or Christie) as the main character, this one moves to the next generation with Hunter. The movie contains are the familiar Paranormal Activity quirks including jumps and frights and home-video style camera work - the things that characterise the Paranormal Activity films.Great, scary, worth a watch.
lojitsu A-Z Horror Movie of the Day..."Paranormal Activity 4" (R - 2012 - US)Sub-Genre: POV/ParanormalMy Score: 5.9Cast=4 Acting=5 Plot=4 Ending=8 Story=6 Scare=4 Jump=7 F/X=7 POV=8 Creep=6It has been five years since the disappearance of Katie and Hunter, and a suburban family witness strange events in their neighborhood when a woman and a mysterious child move in. "Who doesn't like me?" "You'll find out." This is probably my least favorite in the franchise. The introduction of the Kinect software was cool, but that seemed to be the main focus of the film. The acting lacked and you could drive a truck through the holes in the story, but I liked the POV work and the ending was solid as usual. I felt this started to really lose focus here...only worth it if you are a POV fanatic.
Nega_Tanvi I've seen a lot horror and this was by the worst one ever ! No jump scares.. literally nothing happens in the movie and it's all too predictable. It was so dull, I nearly fell asleep ; And I was watching alone! I get that main leads are teens but the line were absolutely cringe-worthy. Considering the first Paranormal activity was my favorite, this was an absolute disappointment , I wish they hadn't made any sequel at all..I think i'm being lenient with the 4. There was no conclusion to the story and No definite supernatural reason as to why any thing happened over the 4 movies, just hints (Not enough to figure the whole thing out). There was nothing in this movie to like. SAD!
David Arnold And so here we have the latest installment of the Paranormal Activity series, but unfortunately, this fourth one isn't as good as the other three. With this latest film we have fast-forwarded 5 years from the events that happened in Paranormal Activity 2 (this 4th film isn't a direct sequel to the 3rd movie) and we see what has become of baby Hunter and his "adopted" mother. Now, while there are some genuinely creepy moments in this film, they are actually quite lacking as they didn't have the same effect and punch as the scares in the other three movies. In saying that, however, I was pretty impressed with the scenes that involved the X-Box Kinect receiver during night-vision, and you actually got some of the best scares during those scenes as well I felt. Also, there's a pretty good (if somewhat slightly confusing) wee twist towards the end as well. The characters in the movie are all done pretty well, but they do get a bit annoying at times (some more than others), but one of the better characters was that of Robbie (played creepily by Brady Allen). Upon first viewing of him you have a kind of "poor wee misunderstood soul" feeling towards him, but that most definitely changes as the movie goes on. Katie was also much more creepy (and vicious) in this movie as well than any of the other installments. So, overall while I wasn't TOO disappointed with this latest installment, I think it could have been done better. It's still worth watching though, especially if you like the Paranormal Activity films.
