Paranormal Activity 3 Audience Reviews

Incannerax What a waste of my time!!!
Fairaher The film makes a home in your brain and the only cure is to see it again.
Hadrina The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
Cristal The movie really just wants to entertain people.
cricketbat Watch Paranormal Activity 3 if you want to fall asleep, not if you want to be frightened. This movie forces its storyline into the exact same framework as the previous two movies and it just seems ridiculous. Additionally, this slow, tedious movie constantly tries to prove that it takes place in the 80s - probably because it doesn't look or feel anything like the 80s. Plus, the few jump-out scares are not worth the wait. This franchise is on its deathbed and it needs to pass on.
christiankg-851-203433 This movie is very scary and creepy, even though its been years that I've watched it, its still in my head! The best movie of the series for sure, and if you are a horror movie fan you won't regret. Not like PA 1 and 2 this one has things going on the whole movie.
stevenfallonnyc After sitting through the torture of the first comedy in the series, "Paranormal Activity," I'm not sure why I sat through this one as well. I guess I figured there had to be something decent about the series, since they keep making these movies, kind of like how the "Police Academy" movies kept being made for a while. So I watched "Paranormal Activity 3" hoping it would be as funny as the first, and I'm not sure it was, but it was at least just as boring. There were some laughs though in this dull comedy. The wife runs out of the kitchen area in terror when the furniture and more hilariously drops from the ceiling (after the ghost lured her out of the room with a well-timed doorbell ring (an old but gold prank), the ghost pulls the hair of a little girl and she just hangs in thin air (I hate laughing at a little girl, but it was pretty funny), and there's even an impressive scene in a bathroom with one of the little girls and a friend of the family which got some good laughs, and the actors get to show their comedy chops a bit. There's also some of the typical "people dragging" that reminded me of Chris Farley being dragged around in some of his comedies. But mostly it's a very dull show in between the comedy bits. Like the first movie, you can condense this movie in a 20-minute short. Maybe tightening it up would highlight the comedy bits more.Perhaps I'll check out the others in the series I missed. If you are willing to wait a while, often a long while, in between the laughs, maybe these Paranormal Activity comedies will be worth sitting through to you.
BA_Harrison If you've already seen and enjoyed the first two Paranormal Activity movies, I see no reason why you shouldn't like this one: it's the same thing all over again—Poltergeist a la found footage. Me? I was left rather unimpressed.Christopher Nicholas Smith plays wedding videographer Dennis, who lives with his girlfriend Julie (Lauren Bittner) and her two young daughters Katie (Chloe Csengery) and Kristi (Jessica Tyler Brown). After convincing Julie to participate in a spot of home-made porn (which is interrupted by an earthquake—talk about bad luck!), Dennis notices something peculiar on the tape which leads him to believe that their home is the focus of supernatural occurrences. Setting up cameras around the house, he attempts to capture more spooky goings-on…What follows is lots of tedious video footage in which the viewer waits patiently for something out of the ordinary to happen. Admittedly, there are two very effective jump scares along the way, but neither of them revolve around the supernatural, which makes them feel very cheap. The bona fide spooky shenanigans are predictable and not in the least bit scary. The best thing about the whole film is the mounting of a camera on an oscillating fan, which means that the viewer is forever expecting something nasty to come into view as the camera moves from side to side. Apart from one of the aforementioned cheap scares, it doesn't deliver, but it was a nice idea.
