If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.

This movie has an awful story line. It is very bad edited. I do ever no why the characters made the decisions they made. 2.8 is not a good ratting. But this such a bad movie that 2.8 is overrating it. This is a 1. I do not know who the characters are. Or what there motives were. I know what they did I just do not know why. There are good actors in this movie. For the writers this was there only movie. I can see why. The actors in this movie wasted they time. Do not wast your time. And do not wast your money. Do not see this movie. It is an awful movie.

The best birthday present of 2007 is not Deadly Drifter. I suppose being a film major has made my friends avid DVD buyers for me as gifts, this year was no exception. They thought they were getting me an art film with Danny Glover as the lead. Well, this film aka Out was nothing more than a load of poppycock and nonsense.I must admit though I've never seen a more talentless cast, insanely horrendous cinematography. I can't help but wonder how high the director was when he made this film. Should I have been tripping on acid or heroine?Warning: Do not watch, you will lose brain cells, your liver may fail, and your kidneys may cease to function.

When I was on vacation two years ago, a friend and I decided to go buy the cheapest movie that we could find, because we were bored. We went to the supermarket and found the movie Deadly Drifters ( http://IMDb.com/title/tt0084455/ ) on DVD for $3.99. It was a Godsend. The movie boasted having Peter Coyote and Danny Glover starring in it. In fact, the case of the movie is covered solely with pictures of the two, but mostly pictures of Danny glover. (The movie cover that we had is not the one seen on IMDb ). We went to watch the movie and were greeted with a non-existent plot. Shortly into the movie, Danny Glover appears for about ten seconds. That's all his role includes. He doesn't show up again. After that, the movie includes more retardation, including, but not limited to: Peter Coyote puts a piece of dynamite in his mouth and lights his while holding some lady that he stole (He went to a restaurant, and just took her). It doesn't explode, so he says "We should get married" They get married. This has nothing to do with the plot. There is a 45-minute segment of the story where Peter Coyote tells the story of Jonah and the whale in some Indian language. It is accompanied by English subtitles. I fast-forwarded through that part. The story ends with Peter Coyote (Who, in the movie, by the way, is named 'Rex') going to a veterinarian and learning that he has 'second sight.' He then goes to the beach and meets a bunch of people who he saw earlier in the story, and his wife drowns herself. That's how the movie ends.Overall, I would have to say that Deadly Drifters ( Also called 'Out' ) is the worst movie ever made.

I really can't believe the number of negative reviews for this thought provoking film, which only goes to show that you are, no offense, mostly too stupid to even review it. This movie is not for those who are easily distracted, not for the 30 second sound bite reality TV mind, not for those who need the movie to do all the thinking for them. These are the reviews of people who cannot appreciate a painting if it doesn't look like a bowl of fruit or a naked Roman woman. It should be quite obvious from the beginning (and I went into this movie with NO expectations as it was purchased from a 99 cent DVD rack under a different title - Deadly Drifter) that this movie is a surrealist exercise and that your standard plot devices and "beginning to middle to end" paradigm is NOT going to apply here. It's experimental in it's technique and is LOADED with subtext. It makes commentary on the futility and absurdity of the radical political movements of the 60's (and today???), the police state, drugs, sex, love, religion, sprituality, responsibility...but with a mixture of SUBTLETY (missing today) and experimental shock. Peter Coyote gives a nuanced performance as the protagonist "Rex/Carl" which ranges from detached observer to emotional easy rider, if you will...and that's about all I'll say without spoiling it for those who have the GUTS and open mindedness to come off of your shelves.
