Once Bitten Audience Reviews

NekoHomey Purely Joyful Movie!
SteinMo What a freaking movie. So many twists and turns. Absolutely intense from start to finish.
AutCuddly Great movie! If you want to be entertained and have a few good laughs, see this movie. The music is also very good,
Dirtylogy It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.
povamp But this one was terrible despite Jim Carey. Not to mention Hutton being an ugly vampire. Funny at certain moments, cliche at most. BTW what Vampire surrounds their self with white and has a pink (indicates blood within oneself) face and body. Vampires are devoid of blood hense the need for it.Dumb and lacks a lot of comedy for a comedic movie.
jellopuke There are a few laughs here, but for the most part what you are watching is a movie that Jim Carrey is struggling to break out from but is being held back be either the by the numbers plot, the direction, or his own unwillingness to go crazy. Maybe this would be better remembered if they'd just cut him loose, but as it stands it more of a historical curiosity than anything. Decent, but nothing worth tracking down really.
BA_Harrison Jim Carrey plays frustrated teenage virgin Mark Kendall, who is unable to talk his long-time girlfriend Robin (the lovely Karen Kopins) into going all the way. Mark is convinced by two friends—even bigger losers in the love department—to pay a visit to West Hollywood where they believe they might be able to score with a woman. In a dating bar, Mark meets the sexy Countess (Lauren Hutton) who invites him back to her place, unaware that his new acquaintance is a vampire who needs to feed three times from a virgin before Halloween to retain her youthfulness.Everybody has to start somewhere. For Jim Carrey, an illustrious career as a leading comedy star started with Once Bitten, a not-particularly-funny vampire comedy that displays little evidence of the performer's trademark madcap style. Fortunately, despite very few genuine laughs, the film's amiable approach and 80s trappings still make it a reasonably fun viewing—harmless nonsense for when there's nothing better to watch. Helping to pass the time less painfully: a fun dance sequence at the High School Halloween Hop, and a scene in the school shower that is actually pretty amusing just so long as you're not bothered by un-PC humour.
Raul Faust What made me exciting for watching this film is the Brazilian's title, which is something like "Looking for a virgin boy". That is very creative- -and so is the movie itself--, given that people are losing their virginity sooner than they did in the past, making it hard to find someone that hasn't ever got laid. Also, it is interesting to notice how Jim Carrey used to act before he started portraying goofs character, like he did in "Dumb & Dumber", "Ace Ventura", among many others. However, "Once Bitten" has a too weak plot to make it an amusing picture. This is not about poor character development-- in fact, this aspect of the movie is great--, but it's about lack of funny or engaging scenes to make it a real comedy. Besides, the final action scenes felt quite boring to me, since nothing was being taken seriously or hilariously. They were just running for a random and uninteresting reason. All in all, this is a regular movie, which is relatively decent due to the great 80's nostalgia and an original story.
