It's a mild crowd pleaser for people who are exhausted by blockbusters.

While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.

The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.

Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable

I have read most of Mampato's comics, and I am a big fun. When I heard that the movie was in production (year 2000 or something like it). I was very exited, but when I saw it, I was a little disappointed. First of all I did not like how they would put commercial use in the movie, for example it's use of the Internet (Terra). It was completely unnecessary, I simply didn't like that. Also I didn't like the changes in the parents of the kid. Physically speaking, they did not show the average Chilean citizen compared to the original comic. As a movie it was a great movie, but I will acknowledge that I was a little disappointed with it. It is a great film for kids though, and they will learn from it.

Just an excellent movie with cartoons that I grew up with. A sensitive journey back in time with my favorite pre teens idols. It also gives an excellent view on one of the hundreds of theories regarding Easter Island and its "moais", how they became to be one of the world's new wonders. The film shows some of Easter Island's most asked about wonders and secrets, with some of the Island's history and story. Filmed with beautiful colors and music, it shows just one of the dozens of adventures that Ogu and Mampato had. I'm hoping to see them again in other adventures such as "Ogu y Mampato in the World of Tomorrow" or "Ogu y Mampato and Ali Baba and the 40 thieves" or any other of their wonderful adventures. A must see for all of those a bit over 40 and still with with a children's heart.
