Paynbob It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

Eddie Murphy is epicc. style... OPPA GANGNAM STLYE. Ganganm Style x Norbit DEATH BATTLE. If I could I would take away Eddie Murphy's halfway decent stand up so we didn't have to deal with his abysmal filmography. THIS A MOVIE IS 11 YEARS OLD NOW, AND IT WAS 11 YEARS OLD THEN. 2/10

theturqmonster I've seen this movie a ton of times since its original release and at various ages. I first watched it as a kid and thought it was hilarious, and as a teenager it only seems funnier because now I understand more of the jokes. Everyone who I talk about this movie with agrees that it is non-stop funny. This movie will have you literally rolling on the floor laughing. Every time I see it I laugh myself to tears! I don't understand the movie's low rating, this movie should have at least a 6. I rate it 10/10 stars. Its one of the best Eddie Murphy movies I've ever seen, and I include Trading Places and Coming to America in that judgment. If you want to laugh HARD, watch this movie!

But for me, this slew of lazy, stereotypical fare is neither funny, nor worthy in any sense.Eddie Murphy is a talented actor whose work needs discipline. Here there is none. Fat people can be funny, as can oddballs, but good humour requires that you laugh with them, rather than at them. On too many occasions watching Norbit I simply cringed, in only one scene, did I laugh – when a big fat black momma takes a water chute and flies off the end.Thandi Newton plays Norbit's out of reach love interest, and is stranded, beautiful and engaging around the dross which laps all around her. Thirteen year olds, struggling to keep up at school, and behind with their reading, will enjoy the base humour and limited horizons which this film offers. For the rest, there will be much else to amuse. Norbit, played by Murphy, is squashed by the whale like Rasputia, played by Murphyhaving been taken in by the wacky Mr Wong played by Murphy and thats it, You have to endure another 101 minutes of purgatory.Director Brian Robbins forte is in American comedy series for TV, where an episode may last only 21 minutes and one joke can be stretched out, but he wholly fails to produce a feature film worth of comedy. I may have seen worse films, but I can't name them right now.

aidan I might not have a good sense of humor but I laughed pretty much 75% of this film why a 3.9 I love this movie it makes me sad when I see that rating god damn critics why do you guys hate a lot of films sure there's a couple racial slurs here and there but to me its like watching "the nutty professor" no not the old one the Eddie Murphy. tell me why people didn't find this funny to me this is a enjoyable film critics can suck it you don't have fun watching movies you take it way too seriously so believe it or not I like if you don't you can watch scary movie 5 oh wait that movie sucked so you know what cry me a river
