Best movie of this year hands down!

n my opinion it was a great movie with some interesting elements, even though having some plot holes and the ending probably was just too messy and crammed together, but still fun to watch and not your casual movie that is similar to all other ones.

Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable

Looks like I'm the lone wolf so far on this site as other reviewers liked this movie. However, I was hard pressed to find any laughs in this raunchy and farcical Mexican comedy, which, as others have noted, is filled with slapstick humor as well. Often, I just found the humor to be cringe worthy, and as it progressed I kept checking how much time was left before it was finally going to end.Omar Chaparro stars here as an ex-con, just released from prison after serving a 13 month sentence for bank robbery. However, he soon will discover a local school has built a gymnasium over where his stripper friend had hid his money (must be speedy construction workers). So naturally, he'll soon be hired as a substitute teacher at the school, where he'll become a "role model" for the wild and delinquent students there during the day, while he drills through the gym floor at night to try and get to his money. All in all, as is so often the case, just trying to be shocking and raunchy doesn't necessarily equal funny, and I could only find a couple of chuckles here in this film.

Mexican films are severely underrated, and they have proved to be quite good at achieving what they want. This of course is a remake and it is very well done, it is funny, it is heartfelt, well paced and you can see the effort that the people behind the film put into making it, and you can tell that Martha Higareda and Omar Chaparro have really good chemistry on screen.Romantic Comedies can be "by the numbers" when it comes to plots, twist and the cathartic final scene. But the important thing is not what we know about them or how they will end, what makes a Romantic Comedy a good movie is not how they end but how do they get there, and this movie makes it seem effortless.Highly, highly recommended.

I just watched the movie and I spent a good time at it. It's a remake of the German film "Fack ju Göhte" just tropicalized for the Mexican environment -not without some inconsistencies by the way. The film is mostly fun but let's say that I have never known of a school like this in Mexico. It is not just the kind of circumstances depicted in the movie, I mean the school itself -don't try to find one like that in Mexico. Nevertheless this factors do not affect too much the general smiles and laughs that it pretends to deliver. I cannot speak for the international audience that could see this film but from the point of view of the mexicans, even though it is plagued of silly jokes and fault language and situations, it is a film that you can enjoy if you are in the mood. Definitively not the most funny picture I've seen but it worth the ticket. Have fun.

I saw this movie tonight, a Thursday, in Northwest Indiana, and my wife and I were the only ones in the theater. I have to say that it could have come off as an average slapstick Mexican comedy, but Omar Chaparro and Martha Higareda(looking too thin I'm afraid)saved this one. The two seem to have good chemistry, the comedy scenes and jokes seem to work well, and the film has a solid plot. I have heard that this film is a copy of a German film, and I guess if I had seen that one first, I would have rated this film lower. But, I've only seen this one, so what do I care, it made me laugh. On a side note, check out Martha in the comedy/drama "7 Días"(a very unknown, but very good film), and Omar in the comedy "Suave Patria".
