After tragically losing his wife to breast cancer and struggling to raise three young children on his own, real life super hero and modern day Forrest Gump, Terry Hitchcock seized on an idea. He wanted to accomplish the impossible: run 75 consecutive marathons in 75 consecutive days to bring attention to the incredibly difficult lives of single-parent families. He ran in spite of freezing rain and unbearable heat, in spite of chest pains and bone fractures that wracked his 57-year-old body. He just kept running - each day, every day - strengthening an unbreakable bond between father and son--- not stopping until he broke the finish line tape in Atlanta. MY RUN is more than a film about a guy running multiple marathons; it's a film about the daily marathons we all run in life.

My Run Audience Reviews

Marketic It's no definitive masterpiece but it's damn close.
Supelice Dreadfully Boring
AshUnow This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.
Cassandra Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.
jmesher-16-200228 I am so glad that I had the wonderful opportunity to take in "MY RUN" last night. This film, first and foremost, is not a "running" film, it's a "LIFE" film. I am afraid that a lot of people will think that they have to be interested in running or be a runner to appreciate this wonderful work. Those that do will miss out.Terry is so genuine, and engaging, that you want him to succeed from the very beginning. It has a powerful and important message and hopefully will inspire people to share their talents and gifts and become a "hero to someone".Anyone who has faced a challenge that they thought was insurmountable should see "MY RUN". I applaud Terry and his family for sharing this with us and trying to shed a spotlight on what single parents and their children go through every day. After you see it, tell someone about it. "MY RUN" needs to be seen. It's message is very relevant and deserving of greater attention. Thanks Terry!!
Matt Reine Terry Hitchcock's story is a story about a very sincere and good family man who despite doctors, friends, the media and everyone else in between telling him he couldn't do the run, Terry believed in himself and did the run for single parent families at all costs. It is a true story of trials and tribulations of Terrys personal and business life.Imagine running from Minneapolis to Atlanta...2,000 miles on foot. Terry tells the story of that journey and the cool people he met and things he saw along the way.Terry strikes me as a guy who doesn't just talk the talk... he walks the walk.. He says "Nothing is impossible" and proved it in his own life before telling others they can do the same. This is a heartfelt, emotional and truly inspirational clean and family friendly movie I will be buying it when the DVD comes out!
ctrcreations-1 Just caught this film at the 2009 Austin Film Festival for it's World Premiere. Audience gave a standing ovation to the filmmakers as well as Terry Hitchcock who was in attendance. Catch MY RUN when it comes to a theater near you - this is a wonderful uplifting film that will touch the heart and soul of anyone that sees it! This film has multiple messages throughout. One is that if someone operates out of faith and not fear, they will persevere - no exception, they will manifest the dream and success and do it as Terry Hitchcock so courageously did - one step at a time!! It will inspire and delight all and leave you feeling filled with hope and promise for better days ahead! You will be thinking about this documentary long after you leave the theater.
Brendanbeseth I saw this documentary at the Austin Film Festival and really enjoyed it. It will change the way you live. It's the story of Terry Hitchcock, who lost his wife to cancer then raised his kids by himself. After the kids were grown he decided to run seventy-five marathons in a row to raise awareness for single-parent households. Once he decides to run the marathons, the story really takes off. You see how hard it was for him. He was already in his late fifties when he decided to do it, and he had a bad heart. The fact that he never gave up, no matter what was put before him, is what makes the documentary so great. It shows you that if you really put your mind to something and believe in yourself, you really can do amazing things.
