bob the moo In this animated film a man wakes up to find that his neighbourhood (and indeed everything he knows) has been overtaken by baboons who are now everywhere doing what they want. This animation marked itself out for me very early on with the rather crude animation, crude sense of humour and the rock song acting as narration. It didn't really appeal to me from the start and I watched it waiting for it to prove me wrong – which unfortunately it never did. This is not to downplay the effort by the makers because when I say "crude animation" I do not mean basic – just that it was rather punky in nature rather than more refined or clever. The level of humour (although the short actually isn't that funny) is equally crude in shots of "faeces everywhere" and that sort of level – OK, I'm overstressing that, but only because this is as close as the short came to being really funny at any point. The rock song matches this approach and in fairness the film is consistent across look, sound and feel – so I guess if this is what they were aiming for then they achieved it. Sadly for me this short didn't work and I never got anything from it. The title may promise something of note but in reality the film doesn't deliver. Crude little short but there is more humour in the title than in the film itself.
