It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.

The movie really just wants to entertain people.

A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.
Beulah Bram
A film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.

Right off the bat, I want to say that i am trying my best not to include any spoilers to the movie. This movie has almost no flaws! I think it has great acting, a lot of humor, and just enough action to keep you watching. It also supports the whole "women's rights" thing, but, hey, that's not my thing, being only 16... I remember taping this movie like 4 times because it just didn't want to work... it's also one of the only classic DCOM movies that they show without it being Halloween or Christmas...The only person who wouldn't like this movie is someone who doesn't like romance, humor, or dirt bikes...And also, if you don't like this movie, go to your local dealer and see if you can get a test drive... i know most people live in the city these days, but there are tons of trails that you can go to to have some good old not-so-clean fun! And don't worry... no musical numbers!

I first saw this movie when my then 12 y/o daughter wanted a dirt bike of her own. After seeing Daddy (me) race bikes, win trophies, she figured she could do the same. I blew the poor kid off for so long, then she had her older brother tape the movie. When I sat and watched it with her, I was in tears, realizing how much it meant to her to be a racer and proud of her commitment to the cause. The movie at first put me off a bit since as a participant, I could see through the holes of the track scenes. I watched it a second time and was impressed with the movie on it own legs. The characters were well thought out and their plights were realistic enough for you to care what happens to them, you want to see them all reach their goals. The action director is a pro racer in Cali. whom I had read about in the dirt bike mags before and those scenes were top notch. The girl beating boys thing was a Disney concession so that everyone feels like a part of the fun.I can still watch this movie over again and not be bored or put off by it. I heartily recommend you give it a look-see, especially if you have a young daughter who wants to feel empowered to go for her dreams.mJ PS: as for getting her bike, Jessica fell and got poked in the ribs and wanted out. She ended up racing slot cars and blowing the doors off most of the boys except one. She became a champion racer in her own right and now has a room full of trophies... just like Dad. :-)

Ok, this is definitely not the best Disney movie out there, BUT it is the best one made for TV. It is a fun movie to watch, with characters you actually care about, and a few very witty lines "Do you think anyone in France actually misses him." Yes a few characters were created souly to further the plot, Andi's father isn't very realistic, neither Fern, and Renee's accent is horrible. Still it is a fun movie, Dean and Andi's relationship is sweet. Her mother, and two brothers are great characters. Even though it is predictable, come on guys it's a Disney movie do you think that they're going to have her bike crash and her die or something, it is a very fun watch, so fun that it is possible to watch it twice in one day without getting bored (my sister came in for the very end and then wanted to watch the beginning). So watch if it comes on TV, or it even is a satisfying rental, but don't expect it to challenge you, or to be anything more than it is.

When I saw the advertising for this movie I must admit that I was expecting it to suck. But to my surprise it didn't. Maybe it's just me, but I think this is one of the Disney channels best original movies. Although yes it may similarities to that of the Disney animated film Mulan, I still think that it's one of the most reasonable and could be realistic films on the channel right now. I mean, how often do you find yourself turning into a mermaid or having a step sister who's really a bubble? Not too often.
