TrueHello
Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.

It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,

This is a gorgeous movie made by a gorgeous spirit.

It's a strange little movie and it's a little hard to believe no one would notice the aliens in some scenes. There are some obvious cgi and compositing, but if you are the type like myself that gets a kick out goofs you might actually like it anyway. As for the humor itself, I liked it and did laugh out for some parts. If you were to make-believe what an experience for tiny people would be like, the situational writing is quite good and understandable. Ed Helms is interesting to see as the uptight and funnily named Number Two and he might be a surprise to some who might not have remembered that he was in this. I'm not promising you'll like it, but perhaps if you read more on the flaws before expecting anything great, it might be more tolerable. Seems to work with me.

A spaceship shaped like a human lands face first on Liberty Island. Its crew is looking for an orb sent from its planet to extract the oceans' salt, which will ruin Earth. The orb is in the possession of Josh, the fifth-grade son of a single mom whose car strikes the alien spaceship and cripples its power supply. The crew have 48 hours to recover the orb, throw it in the Atlantic, and leave Earth. Over the course of two days, the ship's crew experiences chaos and emotion in New York....So the story doesn't really add up to much, but the amount of physical comedy he does here is brilliant, and shows that he doesn't have to play multiple characters to get the laughs. But at the time when this was released (and still now, everything that Murphy released was panned globally, and flopped like nobodies business. But luckily, I have my own brain, and don't jump on the bandwagon, so I enjoyed for what it is, a silly kids film with plenty of things to smile at, even though I only laughed once.So it won't garner Murphy any new fans, but please, it's really quite endearing if you watch it without the criticism.

Very, very bad movie. Felt like I was watching Coming to America again. Just bad. Make it go away and never, ever appear on television again. Two absolute hours of my life wasted. would have rather re-roofed a house in 110 degree weather, endured a sewage filled cruise ship and/or eaten blowfish. Horrible and it is littered with bad taste and a usual plot. Horrible camera work, and ungodly editing, Terribly bad casting, and wonderfully incoherent dialogue makes in a top 50 in the worst films of all time world wide! Please do watch this atrocity as it makes no sense and would be a favorite to those who like looking at ugly houses and rotten carpet.

A friend once said to me, of "Death to Smoochy", "It's not a great movie, but there's nothing wrong with enjoying it." The same can be said of "Meet Dave". It's not an extraordinary, timeless work of art, but it is undeniably enjoyable. And, occasionally, it might actually touch your heart. And, at long last, I feel like I've once again gotten a taste of the Eddie Murphy I came to know and love from when he first plied his wares on Saturday Night Live.In a nutshell, it's a boffo sci-fi comedy, with a lot of the usual premise and plot elements. It's a kind of over-the-top, glitzy, "Brother from Another Planet," and it refuses to take itself seriously. There are certainly better flicks out there, but I honestly don't feel inclined to steer you away from this one. Check it out.
