Mansfield Park Audience Reviews

SunnyHello Nice effects though.
Comwayon A Disappointing Continuation
ChanFamous I wanted to like it more than I actually did... But much of the humor totally escaped me and I walked out only mildly impressed.
Mehdi Hoffman There's a more than satisfactory amount of boom-boom in the movie's trim running time.
magy-4 The first and main - headache camera. Did ever cameraman heard about steady-cam device? Too fast moves, shaking, no single calm shot from stand. Example? In scene where Fanny and Edmund play badminton and Peter call them. I understand that TV movies have much lower budget than standard cinema movies, but still... there are TV movies pleasure to watch over and over. This one I couldn't stand for more than 15 minutes. Besides, choosing of actors was so poor, they simply didn't fit their characters. I feel they won't feel in their characters comfortably and play behavior of their characters so... forcibly. No speak about very bad screenplay. The version from 1999 with F. O'Connor is quite different universe. So my recommendation is - don't waste time with this version of Mansfield Park, you miss nothing. Really.
domvig-693-916147 I am happy to see other people as outraged as i am about mansfield park. It is my favorite of all the jane's (minus persuasion, northanger abby and lady susan which i haven't read yet. I haven't seen this film but i saw the other one made in '99 or something and i didn't get past the first 14 minutes. they made fanny price seem too much like jane herself and totally changed her countenance, which in my opinion is the subject of the book. Don't call it mansfield park if it isn't mansfield park!I really have to write ten lines??? thats retarded...anyway what more can i say about this ... They made fanny price (in the other movie) loud, will say what she feels no matter what and playful and she is none of those things. Defenet slap in the face.
ju po Please...if anybody gets the chance to read this BEFORE watching the movie, if it can be called so, refrain from it... do not waste your time!!!! I too watched this film right after finishing the book, and was seriously disappointed... the main character is basically a new made up Fanny, for she shows NO resemblance whatso ever to the book...she's so lively and laughing all the time... if there was one thing the author wanted to set on this was that she was a very shy, introverted character.... please!!!!! All the most important parts of the story, which are supposed to convey to the heppy ending, are simply not taken into account...and the rest made up!!! I think one is better off using the time to either read a little bit of the actual novel or simply do nothing.
stormy_gail i thought this was a wonderful movie. i didn't try to over analyze it. there was a questioned asked, did Edmund love fanny really. my thought is that Jane Austin wrote of love and romance and the main characters always loved each other but took a trying time in finding it. the movie made me happy except Edmund may have been a little slow at realizing his love for fanny, i think Mary was the bright lights that attract and momentarily blurs vision but later love and intertwining souls is the making of a happy marriage. the two main characters Billie piper and Blake ritson where wonderful and i was glad that i watched and bought this movie,,they were sweet and tender and made you feel good for a change.
