I saw this movie before reading any reviews, and I thought it was very funny. I was very surprised to see the overwhelmingly negative reviews this film received from critics.

The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

Actress is magnificent and exudes a hypnotic screen presence in this affecting drama.

I would consider myself to be a fan of all types of movies, I've see just about every movie considered to be a decent one by highly regarded critics, and it completely baffles me that people enjoyed this movie. It shames me to say that i'm writing this comment without having fully watched the movie, but i honestly couldn't even finish it it was so bad, and believe me I've watched my fair share of bad movies. The fact is that this is just a cheap release by wannabe film-makers. I understand that they were dealing with little or no budget but the idea of someone rebuilding a human who in turn becomes a killer isn't even close to being original e.g. Frankenstein. They could've at least tried to make an original crappy independent film. 0 out of 10 from me and probably the worst movie I've ever seen.

I was thinking the same same...it being a Lions Gate film why is it on video? But of course it isn't on the big screen. But it being on video didn't bother me as much as I thought it would. Once It settled in and I was able to realize that I rented a low budget horror film and that's what I was getting. But I have to be honest, it isn't a horror film to me. I mean, I wasn't scared. Maybe a little creeped out knowing the blind woman was going to get it and that made me feel horrible. Seeing that guys face all bloody after being hit by the car made me flinch a little but the rest of it kept my interest by wanting to know if the sister was going to find him in time and what kind of danger she was really in. Now if it were me I would have had the motor Dan guy kill the sister in front of the brother and that's what makes him turn on the motor Dan guy. And that's how it should have ended. If anything lets see Dan and the killer go at it a little. It was missing that. But this low budget movie kept my interest all the way through and ended up being something other and more then a stupid remake or a sequel or a cartoon or TV show turned into a movie. I like bigger budget films more but I can live with this one. It did it for me.

come on now! how you going not show his face? i mean the little parts that were shown of the dudes face being all messed up was real cool. and when he was drilling the girl i seen his face in the background all bloody under the other mask. i kept thinking i was going to see what his face looked like at some point. at the end would have been a good time after his sister stabbed him or even when she was in the bathtub and he gave her beans. he should have shown her his face then. but thats pretty much the only thing i didn't like about it. it was creepy and well acted. the big guy with glasses made it creepy. and i liked hearing the hurt guy talk repeating everything the fat guy was talking about. he should have did that a little more. the cop getting killed from the old blind lady was a cool middle twist that made the situation even more messed up. and i liked that once they got the cops gun they didn't use it. straight killers don't kill with guns. he was watching all that crazy stuff on the TV and thats what made him kill the way he did. someone else said that the killings were too simple and the same. thats crap one killing was with the knife through the neck, then the knife between that girls chest, then those things he stabbed the cop with, then the knife through the back, then the drill. and he chased his sister around with a bigger knife. i don't think the story was about showing blood and making it look stupid ,just showing how crazy the situation was. 8 out of 10.

Let me spell it out for everyone. And all you so-called horror experts out there posting like crazy butchering hard working filmmakers and the movies they make- shut up and take a seat. I've been looking around this IMDb site looking at some of the reviews for my favorite movies. I for one don't go for the big budget garbage that comes out now a days. There might be a good one here and there and I'll be the first to say that most low budget movies come out crappy because they had little or no money to make it. I rented machined the other night because the cover got my attention (and I'll rant about the cover in a minute) and took it home not knowing what to expect. Now the easiest thing in the world is to knock somebody else for trying. And when you pay your three bucks you have the right to express your opinion. And thats what this review section is for. But lets get something straight- I can appreciate a low budget movie with tons of effort and hard work compared to some goons with millions of dollars making crap. When something with a bug budget and I'm talking at least six figures comes along and takes a dump on our heads- that sucks. When these low budget films come along with no money just what they can work with- I'm for it. You can't fool us- the people who watch these movies and talk about them. If you make a movie out there and you don't put as much as you know you should into it- wee see it a mile away too- and thats when we tear your movie apart. When I see a movie like this- it has all the right tools and the little things add up for me when I watch this movie. It was made to be a real movie even if it didn't have money going for it. And about that cover- why is everyone riled up about it looking like the wolf creek cover. wolf creek didn't even go with that cover for the video stores. And wolf creek didn't impress me all that much to be honest. But if you think wolf creek is so much better than machined- it better be because it cost a millions bucks to make. So thats my point-when it comes to low budget machined is one of those that stands on its own two feet. Watch it- it's worth your four bucks. But don't expect anything other than a well made low budget movie.
