TrueHello
Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

In San Cazador, California, the clumsy vampire hunter Edgar Frog is evicted from his trailer. But the best-seller writer Gwen Lieber offers him a job to destroy the head vampire DJ X that promotes worldwide raves to increase his army of undead. Lost Boys: The Thirst manages to be even worse than the last installment but also even more cheesier, Feldman acted like a grumpy old dude for half of the film, the special effects were garbage and the villains were cheesy as hell. If you loved the last film from 2008 you might enjoy this one as well, but if you did not? Stick with the original or anything else really.. (0/10)

The series is back on track here - this one, The Thirst, IS the sequel to the original film - NOT Part 2, The Tribe. This film actually continues the story of the Frog brothers and pays a nice tribute to Corey Haim. This one is a comedy - rather lame comedy but funny in it's way. Edgar Frog (Feldman) is a washed up vampire hunter, a girl has a brother that has become a half-vampire and get Edgar on the trail of the vampire group, plans on bringing the brother back safely by killing the head vampire - now begins our story.Yes there is some nudity and bloody - it's a modern film - yes it's a bit over done but I ignored it to watch Edgar Frog's journey. The 1st film 9/10, the 2nd 2/10 (only for Feldman) and this 3rd film 5/10 - mainly for bring The Frog back into the limelight again.5/10

I can't believe I am saying this, but this film was much better than "The Tribe". Cory Feldman and Jamison Newlander come back for their roles as Edgar and Alan Frog. Well Feldman kind of had to. The story was not too bad and surprisingly the acting was not too bad. There were a couple characters were who pretty horrible in the film, but luckily the movie wasn't really focusing on them. The film kept its cool vampire feel and did manage to keep both versions of "Cry Little Sister" in the film as well. This movie is basically trying to end the Lost Boys movies. The reason is because the alpha or head vampire is in the film. If Corey Feldman can stop him, then it is over and anyone who was turned by a vampire under him, will be cured. This goes for Alan Frog was was turned in the story line of the other two movies. The movie stayed more with the first film and acted like the second one wasn't even made. Plus Corey Haim's character was mentioned in the film as well to help remember him. Now the first movie was made in the late 80s so the music was focused around that. The second was focused more on a death metal feel. This one was electronic dance music; which makes sense I guess for 2010. I have always liked the style of vampires in the Lost Boys and even though the movie wasn't the best, it was still nice to see them again.

If you have seen the original Lost Boys you know it wasn't the greatest movie of all times, but it has enough spirit to make it a classic people loved and compared to. When I first heard Lost Boys would be turned into a franchise, I refused to watch the movie (The Tribe) because I was sure it would suck. Not so, though, since I have seen it recently and I believe it retained some of the spunk and the tongue in cheek approach of the original. Now, it is time for the third part, something that I was certain had no chance of being fun. I am glad to say I was wrong again. Lost Boys: The Thirst is not the greatest movie of all times, either, but it is certainly fun, especially for the people that liked the other movies in the group.Yeah, about the ending... I thought it was more like a joke, something that people can laugh about. I doubt anyone really took it seriously, especially since most of the film itself was mostly humorous than thrilling.People clearly enjoyed playing in the movie. Some of the dialog was really amusing like the vampire noticing Frog is awful with the sword. The return of Alan Frog was also nice, especially since Jamison Newlander played as Alan Frog for the second movie as well, but the scenes got deleted from the finished product. Frankly, this film would have been a great opportunity for Kiefer Sutherland to play a cameo. Oh, well.Bottom line: If you have seen the original Lost Boys and liked it, you will enjoy this one, too. If you haven't, go watch it, what are you waiting for? Then watch this one :)
