Disappointment for a huge fan!

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

The movie really just wants to entertain people.

A horror film from The Midnight Releasing label where a man returns to his fathers house after he dies. While there he is visited by a witch and is determined to figure out who she is and what she wants. He receives a mini home invasion as well with a man wanting his bag back. He manages to convince the man to help him build a trap for the witch. This film is trying to ride the witch wave. If you look at the cover you can see how small the words Lily Grace are and the w is even done with the two vs. Really slow with way too much dialogue. It's also one of those did it happen or didn't it? Way too frustrating.Skip this one.

I think I heard this was a good horror movie, but sadly I found out early it was more like a student film. And a bad one at that. The actors don't seem to know their lines and they don't seem to even know what they're doing in each scene. I was astonished at how amateurish this movie was. The direction is lost, the characters don't act like real people at all.For example, this kooky guys shows up at this man's door and stammers around trying to give a reason for calling and the guy just lets him in and then goes upstairs to finish dressing, leaving a complete stranger (who's acting suspicious) in his house unattended. And then later we've got these 3 guys in a the woods looking for the kooky guy and we never know exactly why they're all looking for some pink purse. Then every once in a while we see this "witch" who's not even very scary at all. And no one knows why she appears or what she wants. Then the first two guys start building some stage with stadium lights on it and some kind of siren that goes off for some reason later on.The guys in the woods don't seem to play a real role other than shooting at them and walking into the house. The owner of the house doesn't seem even slightly curious as to why people are walking in his house. He just sits there reading a book. And then they capture the "witch" on that big stage they made, but I'll be damned if I know what happened after that.Relating this story reminded me how convoluted it all was and how none of it made any sense at all.I look for new films with new ideas, but this one was not it. I was hoping I'd found a jewel, but was wrong.Sorry, don't waste you time on this one.

So this witch walks into a bar......Seriously? I didn't get it. Somebody's idea of an original witch story.I can't spoil what's not there. I will try to generate some interest anyway. There is the Star with a dead father. Got it. Dad was never around....that's original. Star goes to Dad's old house. Wow....witch appears...actually a middle age girl with bad makeup. Somehow you will have to convince yourself she is a witch.Anyway some crazy dude appears in the woods with a banjo hot on his trail....no foolin'. He hides a purse in the woods then goes back not being able to find said purse. I'm really scared now.Crazy dude finds his way to the old house of our Star. From there it all goes down hill. Let's see, there is the hometown sheriff and eventually, three hillbillies (can I use that word nowadays?) show up looking for crazy dude. The witch makes another entrance....not sure why.Our star has discovered a plan to catch a witch drawn out by his Dad. He and the crazy dude start to build it. If by now you cannot see the plot in this story....don't blame me....I'm just the reviewer.I know there was suppose to be a clear path through a very vague plot here. Unfortunately, I am not a New Age Witch Story Enthusiast. The director will probably go on to make a great movie someday.....I'll wait. I gave this movie 4 Stars for all you Horror Geeks like myself who completely disregards a reviewer's warning not to waste your time on this one. Don't say I didn't warn you. Cookie....Q(:-)
