Most undeservingly overhyped movie of all time??

It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

"There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle."
In the fifth year of Youtube, working with Ridley and Tony Scott, on July 24, 2010, 4500 videos from different countries of the world were sent and a feature film was selected from these videos. I think human beings are the same everywhere, despite the cultural differences, no matter where in the world they are. Our dreams, our thoughts, our desires, our happiness, our fears, our worries and our beliefs are so similar that it can not be described. Instead of complaining about our lives, we have to deal with more motivated things. Nobody in the world lives on equal terms. Life is full of difficulties but we must learn this inevitable truth and patience. Laughing is a universal language and we should never let it go. I wish a world where there are no wars where peace and love exist.

I watched this film at school as part of my A-Level media case study for the NMT exam. My first impressions of the film was that I didn't know what to think about it as film these days have lots of effect and is fake and this film is very real. Life in a day is a great film and is a different film as third world countries have a big part in the production. I also think that life in a day is more of a documentary then a film. I liked the use of different camera angles from in one shot having a long range shot which is then changed to a close up so you can't escape what is going on in the film. I also liked the idea of not having the film about people that not everyone sees every day and it's not all about the English and American people as all the Hollywood films are. Also the film I think does a great job of showing how many amazing things can happen in just one day and also tragedy's such as the love parade festival where lots of people getting crushed and people dying but it has human births and animal births marriage, all the this that make people happy and sad are in this film. also the film keeps you hooked in the film. Some of the things which I didn't like about the film was that some of the clips were too long and others too short. In conclusion Life in a day is a great film which catchers everything that can happen in a day and shows you the circle of life, the film can represent light and dark, birth and death and was based on three questions, what do you love, What do you hate and what is in your pockets.

I was shown this film as part of my A2 Media course and did not know what to expect from a film which was solely made from a UGC website. First impressions of the film were that it would be a film that had no structure and no real story line and would just be numerous videos stitched together. My first impression continued to ring true through the first couple of minutes where the audience are shown footage of feet and a women in the dark. After the film continued, it showed to have a number of good points which made the film revolutionary and stand out against other more conventional documentaries The film, literally showed peoples days from getting up in the morning of the 24th July 2012, to sleeping at night, through the changes in dark and light. The good points continued as it showed the audiences real footage, in the sense that it was not directed, depicting their real lives, in their real homes and showing their real emotions. This allowed the audience to connect with the film which also made it revolutionary. I believe that film did contain a number of bad points, for instance the scene in which a cow was slaughtered. Even though the film is rated 12 and many 12 year olds do understand the killing of animals to provide their meat but may not actually have seen the killing process which could have shocked a much younger audience, even at this age this particular scene was hard to see. However as the film title depicts it is about people's lives and therefore could be justified that that scene was edited in. Another bad point of the film was the lack of narration. The lack of narration meant that the audience had to create much of their story in their head and had to find out themselves what was happening. This could be a bad point for the film as it does not make the viewing of the film "easy". Overall my opinion of the film has changed from my first impression and know do understand how this film is ground breaking in the film industry. I also believe that the way the film has been edited together to have a sense of continuity and flow and been an advantage for the film as it follows and standard "day" structure well.

Real life is scary and intense and hard sometimes. But real life is real. There's no escaping it. You either accept it or... well I don't know. But a few years ago when YouTube/Google asked us, the people, to submit a video or two of our life on that day, I of course took the challenge. Wasn't surprised to not see my video, but I'm sure most didn't see their videos there. This is literately just a series of videos people submitted. Some with music, others without. The sequence was what made this interesting. It showed early morning, then morning, afternoon and evening. They had a few questions they had answered, including what's in your pocket, what do you love the most, and what do you fear. The answers were mind boggling.I was amazed by what YouTube/Google included in the videos. Being in a very politically correct world where you don't offend people and thus religion and politics are never mentioned, they included some. The one that impressed me was a guy in a ranch with his son and wife, who said he loved his "Heavenly Father" the most. Reality. Some people are religious, some aren't.There were a few scenes I'd rather had not seen, including animal cruelty, but I accepted it because it's reality. That's how life is every day. There were scenes of people happy, some almost angry, some sad and crying. This was blended in perfectly. And they ended it beautifully as well.I rate this 8/10 for a very well done sequence.
